Hi @yeahm! Your might have a spike due to anxiety, so try to focus on something else (easier said than done, I know). If you are really worried I suggest seeking medical help.

With earplugs that should put you somewhere around 65-70 db? I don't think that could cause any permanent damage, perhaps you are having a spike due to anxiety? Anyway, hope it gets better for you!

@Bill Bauer well, it depends on how loud the person actually is, I suppose. If it felt really unbearable, I would excuse myself and leave.

Hi @Rajin ! I'm guessing that it's due to the fact that you lower all other sounds around you, and therefore your tinnitus appears louder (or easier to hear). I really don't think this can cause any kind of harm, just make sure to keep your earplugs clean and change them from time to time.

I'm guessing that it could be a bit sensitive to some people, telling them that they are too loud. Of course some people wouldn't care at all and do what they could to quiet down, but if you don't really know him that well it might be hard for you to tell how he would react? If earplugs wasn't...

I really hate them, just as I hate loud cars. Really feeling like an old, grumpy lady whenever it comes up in a conversation, but I really can't understand why they have to make all that noise (and never have understood it, even before tinnitus).

@coffee_girl there are breeds that are known for being quiet, if I remember correctly Basenji is known for this. Just google "breeds that don't bark" or something like that, and you will find dogs that might suit you. Good luck!
