Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I just thought I'd jump in and say that is interesting that Neuromod have US approval for Lenire now. I have been away from the thread for a few years. I was one of the early users who went from the US to get it in Europe. I got the device and then was unable to return to Ireland for the...

How Has Trazodone Worked for You? Has It Helped Your Sleep? Does It Make Tinnitus Worse?

I don't take anything anymore, but I didn't have any issues with Trazodone. I just try to live with this all the best I can.

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

That's interesting. When I picked up my device they told me the tongue tip was good for about 240 hours. Before I went there, I had read about the 180 hours here. I got right about six months out of the tip and then it quit working, so right around the 180 hour mark. I haven't really bothered...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I just thought I'd share this video from my local TV station here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market. As most of you know Dr. Hubert Lim is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota as well as the Chief Scientific Officer at Neuromod. He makes it sound more like a habituation...

Lenire — User Experiences and Reviews

Well it looks like I am taking a break from Lenire for a while. My tongue tip has died. I now wish I would have gotten a second one when I picked up the device, but I was going to purchase a spare on my first follow-up visit which is now indefinitely delay due to COVID-19. I am in the United...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

Honestly, I think you have a chance. It seems that people with no hearing loss and hyperacusis respond better to the treatment. Thus far it hasn't done anything for me, but I have mild hearing loss and no hyperacusis. The only way you are going to really know if you try it since everyone...

Lenire — User Experiences and Reviews

I haven't posted for awhile, but thought I would do a quick update. I have been using Lenire for about 26 weeks now. I have been pretty much compliant for the entire time. I only missed four days a few weeks back while on a vacation. I was curious if taking a break would help, but it really...

I would say I'm in a different boat. I have been using PS1 for five months and haven't had any luck with it. I am hoping someday I can get it changed over to PS2 and have some results, though I hope for no worsening as I have heard from several here.

University of Minnesota Tinnitus Research with Acoustic and Body Stimulation

That is true. Neuromod uses the tongue, Minnesota uses the ear (though Lim in his research mentions the tongue as a good pathway as well), and Michigan uses the jaw and neck based on where you can modulate your tinnitus.

University of Minnesota Tinnitus Research with Acoustic and Body Stimulation

That is my understanding. They were pretty much ready to release when Neuromod brought on Lim. He mostly did presentations at various hearing/audiology events. I know Neuromod used some of Lim's earlier research to develop their device, but he wasn't involved at all. Maybe in Lenire 2.0. Of...

I haven't heard much from the Minnesota team for some time. I am on their mailing list for a possible next phase study, but I haven't heard much of anything since Hubert Lim started working with Neuromod. Last update around here was that they were looking for engineers to create a wearable...

Thanks @Autumnly, @PeterPan, @Markku, and @Hazel for all your hard work on this. I hope my data was helpful! I was wondering if I could possibly see my TFI scores? I guess I would just be curious for myself where those scores were at at each milestone even though Lenire thus far hasn't...

That is what they found in the trials. Most people with hyperacusis were "super responders". Interestingly enough they told a few users they aren't seeing that correlation as much with the release now.

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

Thanks @PeterPan for all your work on this. You are truly and asset here at Tinnitus Talk. I can't wait to see the results and see how they correlate to Neuromod's numbers. I am starting to think that there really is a placebo effect with their numbers and that is why perhaps we haven't seen...

There just really isn't a lot to report. I have been on my same setting for over 12 weeks since I can't get back to Ireland. I think the most frustrating part is that Neuromod hasn't reached out at all during this time. Any communication with them has had to be initiated by me. I will keep...

Week 10 Update I am on their newly suggested appointment schedule of going every 10 weeks. I was supposed to go to Ireland Monday of this week, but obviously that isn't happening. I have had zero change in my tinnitus. I have been compliant with doing treatment two times a day. I try to do...

I ended up moving my first follow up appointment from next week. I realize I can still get to Ireland from the US, but everything is changing so quickly I put it off for a month. You are correct. I still wonder if it is worth the bother. I am sure there is going to be a lot of extra scrutiny coming and going. I am still thinking I may move my appointment. Aer Lingus isn't charging change fees on flights. I will see what the next few days bring I guess.

Well it doesn't look like I will be going to Dublin for my adjustment in two weeks. It looks like no travel to the US from Europe for the next 30 days, so I am assuming I am not going to be able to fly over since I won't be able to get back!

I had my follow-up call from Neuromod today and told them about my lack of improvement and they said from what they are seeing that isn't abnormal at six weeks. I am noticing that from the review thread the people with improvements seem to have low MML, mostly in the single digits or teens...

6 week update Today I finished my sixth week using Lenire. I have had 100% compliance with using the device twice a day and tried to make it around the same time. I am sad to report no changes for me. I would say I maybe had two days over those weeks that I felt I was better. That is...

They are very open about it at the appointments that this is not a cure. They are also very open that it may not work for everyone. This is still very young technology and maybe in the next several years after refinement it could be a cure, but for now I would call it a step in the right...

If you are worried I wouldn't tell them. They don't ask for your medical records or anything. My only concern would be if that they found certain drugs during the trial that would inhibit the treatment and you wouldn't get the full result from it. Did you put any drugs in the pre-assessment...

Yes, basically if you can modulate it by neck or jaw movements or pressing on certain areas on your head or face. I was just curious how Lenire worked for somatic tinnitus. There really hasn't been much conversation if it works better for somatic or non-somatic tinnitus. Mine is very somatic...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I think the thing is with neuroplasticity is that it is different in everyone. Some may be early responders and some it may take some time. The longer you have had tinnitus it may take longer. We don't really know and I don't think Neuromod is sure either. I remember @Clare B's tinnitus went...

@Lucky97 I question the fact that the audiologist states that it works better in patients without hearing loss. Tinnitus is from hearing loss with the exception of TMJ or neck trauma. Are they saying it works better if you have a good audiogram up to 8 kHz? Everyone is going to have some...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I wouldn't read too much into the criteria from Shore's trial. You have to set criteria for scientific research and peer review. It doesn't necessarily mean it won't work outside that criteria. You just have to establish a baseline. I was only posting that to show the somatic requirement for...

Sorry, but Lim's research was what this was all based on. Even Neuromod themselves admitted they used his research for their device. You could even look back as far as 1985 for research for electrical stimulation for tinnitus. For sure Shore has gotten more press for her research and that is...

I sent in my audiogram last night. This audiogram was taken within the last year. Based on their criteria I should be fine. I have no loss up to 3kHz then a slow drop up to 8kHz which my left ear is at 45 dB loss and right is around 40 dB loss. I would be considered to have mild/moderate...

I would assume so Alice. The only other thing I could think of is that they are trying to streamline the appointment to get more people through, so if you have a recent audiogram they wouldn't require another one at your appointment.
