Lorazepam for 8 Weeks — Do I Need to Taper?

Benzos are so dangerous. Please do NOT ever take more than what you are taking now. Most doctors do not know and do not admit how hard and deadly tapering from a benzo drug is. Whatever you are taking, you need to find someone who is really good and smart to help you taper. I had been given...

    Tinnitus Can Get Better

I am saying tinnitus can get better. I won't say it will get better because as I have seen here, there are so many reasons tinnitus happens. And it all depends on why it most likely happened. If there is injury, damage, horrible noise, disease, dysfunction, and so many things like that--I...

    Alcohol Quiets Down My Tinnitus

If I have a couple of glasses of wine, the tinnitus totally goes away. Why does this happen and is it a good or bad thing? I am sure my tinnitus is related to too much ibuprofen. But I know I can heal because I have had some interludes of total silence. But I really wonder why drinking wine...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

It is early Friday and an update. The tinnitus is mostly there but it can come and go. On Monday in the ER getting iv fluids, and being so quiet, it went away totally. When I have a few glasses of wine at night it mostly stops. I can see that my changing TSH levels most likely have had...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

For me this cold on the neck is a good way to calm the tinnitus. Although I imagine it really depends on the cause. I know mine is not because of injury or loud noise or infection or anything like that. Based on what has happened the past couple of weeks since the tinnitus started, I have...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

Another note from last night. I got quite a bit of sleep last night. I discovered that if I put a plastic cold pack that I keep in the freezer on the back of my neck and lay back and try to sleep the tinnitus almost disappears. That helped mem to sleep.

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

A later note tonight. I have been asleep. The ringing is back but I am not having a panic attack--yet. I have some interesting info for my doctor. That a changing thyroid value could be affecting my blood pressure, also causing ringing. We shall seel.

Redocooking--it is interesting what you mention about walking. I have healed from some problems and from panic disorder by walking. Every morning I walk at least an hour---depending on the season, sometimes more. And during the night, I have been known to walk in the middle of the night to...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

Redocooking, I am curious. You asked the question, what kind of tinnitus do I have? I am not sure how I would know that. I am seeing what everyone is saying here and it seems that so many times it is caused by exposure to loud noise. I have never had that. I have a dear friend whose husband...

It is interesting what you say about the fans. Although I have had to sleep with them for years and years. I need the distraction of the white noise to be able to sleep. I had thought I was strange except my son is this way, too. He needs background noise to sleep. And then I realized how...

It is interesting--if I have a couple of glasses of wine, the tinnitus pretty much goes silent. And I know my hearing is good. I was sitting in my bedroom with two huge box fans blowing--I have a tiny flip phone in my purse that I usually do not have turned on. I heard across the room the...

Thank you so much. My doctor, who has known me for 8 years and has guided me through a lot of medical journeys looked at my ears and considered what he knows about me and told me I would heal. That is hard to hear and hard to take when you are suffering and so miserable. And some experiences...
