Post Your Current Medication / Supplement Stack

I'm still on the Sertraline. I have been for 2 years but I don't take anything specifically for the tinnitus anymore. It took me about 12 months to realise the only thing that seemed to send my tinnitus crazy was noise so I live as quiet a life as possible.

What Are Your Biggest Achievements Despite Tinnitus?

I'm currently doing a little garden project, have put fencing up and making a seating area and building a firepit. 18 months ago when tinnitus and hyperacusis first hit me I could barely function, doing any kind of DIY was beyond me. Also I've been using a hearing aid for about 15 months as it...

    Cycling and Tinnitus?

@Bartoli you could try a windproof skull cap under your helmet, if you wear one? I tried the Helmet Angel things but they were rubbish so started wearing a beanie hat and that really minimised the wind noise but couldn't comfortably fit a helmet over it.

Karcher Jet Wash: 90 dB with No Recommendation to Wear Hearing Protection

I've just bought a Karcher jet wash for my son to use, no way I could cope with the noise those things make. Had a look at the technical specs and it's 90dB but no mention in any of the safety advice of wearing hearing protection, really surprised me. I'll advise my son to wear hearing...

Hi Michael, I'm 18 months into this and certainly managing a lot better. The first 3 months were horrendous, I was off work and in a very dark place. Had ENT appointment then referred to audiologist who provided me with hearing aids, this helped a huge amount, particularly in my right ear. I...

Hyperacusis and Reactive Tinnitus — Help with Sound Generators & Treatment Methods?

Thanks Mister Muso, I've found the only real way forward is self management, understanding triggers etc. This site has been a huge help, particularly in the early days and just knowing you're not alone. It sounds like we've trodden a similar path with our tinnitus and hyperacusis. Hope you're...

What Jobs Can People with Tinnitus & Hyperacusis Do?

I lost my job more because of hyperacusis than tinnitus, I was a support worker, working with adults with learning disabilities. I now help my wife out with doggy day care and boarding, which apart from dogs barking is far more manageable than being in a busy noisy environment. The dogs only...
