From Klonopin (Clonazepam) Induced Horrors of Tinnitus and Hyperacusis to Approaching a Better State

I am so happy to read this Dana. I know how hard things have been for you, but I am positive you will continue to heal. As for doctors not believing you, I do not find that unusual at all, especially psychiatrists and neurologists are often the people who prescribe these drugs the most. It's...

Geez Dave, you didn't need to go to those lengths just to try and get a sponge bath from the nurses ;) No seriously Dave this was shocking news for me to read, I really hope you make a speedy recovery. I did read your post about listening to Sylvie's voice to get you too sleep every night...

HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy for Menopause) and Tinnitus

I was doing fine with my tinnitus for ten years, then along came perimenopause and it caused a big escalation in tinnitus for me. Hopefully yours will settle in time, be careful with medications that some doctors may suggest for hot flushes and sleep, some may be more harmful than HRT.

Once again, well said Chinmoku ;) I for one do not believe your posts ever display negativity, in fact, if anything your posts are always full of compassion and kindness. Informing others of a balanced view in my opinion is useful, unfortunately what works for some may harm others. Tinnitus...

Flupirtine — Another Potassium Channel Opener

Hi Deb, I have never tried it because a friend told me it was ototoxic years ago. This study says it has been identified as being a putative ototoxin but its ototoxicity has yet to be confirmed in vivo in mammals. Detecting Novel Ototoxins and Potentiation of Ototoxicity by Disease Settings...

Hi Deb, First of all sorry for the late reply. I have not been on Tinnitus Talk for sometime and just noticed that I had an alert to your post yesterday after login. How to Stop/Taper Clonazepam (Klonopin)?

Please be careful, your mixture of medications is extremely dangerous. The use of one single Benzo can be fraught with danger let alone the use of two. I understand you want to escape the madness of tinnitus, but the class of medications you are taking are well known to cause tinnitus. They...

    Valdoxan (Agomelatine) Worsened My Tinnitus

Some days I can forget about my tinnitus for several hours as it goes not only to a lower level, but to a tone I seem to be able to cope with better. Some days it is still much louder and I cope ok because the tone is not a shriek. Then for at least 10 days a month it is pure torture. The...

    Valdoxan (Agomelatine) Worsened My Tinnitus

I am nearly 19 months off Clonazepam and I am still having windows and waves. The tinnitus does lower for about 15 days of every month and that gives me a break to recharge before the onslaught returns. I have improved from the acute stage but I was expecting to feel much better than where I...

    Valdoxan (Agomelatine) Worsened My Tinnitus

I worked several years ago with a couple of very good neuropsychiatrists, but once again they understood very little about tinnitus. Their clinical expertise was in Dementia though. If I can remember and get that condition at least I will know who to call ;)

    Valdoxan (Agomelatine) Worsened My Tinnitus

I can't believe my tinnitus has been with me for 20 years and nothing has changed. It is so bloody depressing to think people are still referring people to psychiatrists for tinnitus treatment. You are spot on about neuro-otologists. They have very little training in neurology. Having said...

Medication to Mitigate Suicidal Ideation from Severe Tinnitus?
