    Started Having Silent Days

Hi Virginia girl, First of all, sorry that you have to go through this. Now to your question, nope, after the initial period my tinnitus remained low for many months, never had a pattern like you described in your post. In the late months of 3rd year, it became even barely noticeable before...

    Started Having Silent Days

Thank you! I am glad that it ended for me this way. I can see you got tinnitus just last year. Give it more time, in the mean time, get on with your normal life and try to do the things that you enjoyed doing in the past. It will most probably get better or goes away as time goes by. Hope yours...

    Started Having Silent Days

Update: My tinitus is gone for more than a month now. I mean I am in complete silence now for about 40 days or so. I strongly suspect the reason behind this is that I had been having low red blood cell count for the past 3~4 years and after undergoing my anual medical check up at our company...

    Started Having Silent Days

Hi Hazel, Thanks for your kind words. Tinnitus is a very serious condition that can make people go crazy. It was very difficult for me also at the beginning but gradually, over three years time, my tinnitus has become a whisper and I barely notice it anymore. Since I have improved this much and...

    Started Having Silent Days

To be very honest with you, I have been riding bikes for more than 30 years (I would say all my life) and never knew it causes ear damage. Apparently it does to some extent due to heavy wind blast. With that said, I always wear very high quality helmets with wind blockers but never wear earmuffs...

Long Day in New York City — Construction Noises, Sirens, Loud Sounds — Can I Get a Tinnitus Spike?

If your tinnitus reacts to such sounds and as a result you usually get spikes, then you have to worry, otherwise you will be fine. I never wear/wore earplugs or muffs after the onset. IMO, it is meaningless to wear those if you have non-reactive tinnitus.

Sorry I can't answer your question as I don't know anything about earplugs or earmuffs because I never wore any of those after the onset. Poll: Do You Listen to Music with Headphones? Has It Made Your Tinnitus Worse?

I hate headphones. I always listen to music on my Hi-End home theater system at comfortable levels. But when I watch movies, I always crank up the volume to blasting levels. Believe me, I have been doing this for more than 25~30 years , and even after I got tinnitus I did not stop this habit...

@HeavyMantra It is what you have. If your tinnitus reacts to the sound and certain kind of food and drinks, that is reactive tinnitus. Better stop listening to music if it spikes your tinnitus as it wll be bad in the long run. Your ears need rest. For some people, nothing spikes their tinnitus...

How to Not Fear Your Tinnitus Might Get Worse in the Future?

If your tinnitus is non-reactive to sound and you don't get spikes after those sound exposures, live your life normally. I never wore any protection since tinnitus started back in 2016. @Mymlan No, my tinnitus is not noise induced. It was a heavy wax buildup. After 8 months I resumed all of my favorite activities that I used to do before getting tinnitus. Because the tiniitus itself became less and less intrusive, and the volume of the sound in my tinnitus ear started to...

I got my old life back 8 months after the onset. Major improvement came at 23 month mark. Nowadays, after 31 months, it has become a wisper that I don't even know is there. How Can I Avoid Wanting to End My Life If Hearing Renegeration Programs Won't Be Successful?

While I agree with your comment, all I wanted to do is, to give the OP some kind of positive hopes to carry on. That is what he wants at this stage. Doesn't matter what happens in the end, having positive hopes is much much better than living with dark thoughts.

How Can I Avoid Wanting to End My Life If Hearing Renegeration Programs Won't Be Successful?

Your tinnitus is so new. Give it 2 years time, and you will definitely see improvement. By the time you get to that stage, you won't think of ending your life. My tinnitus improved massively after about 23 months, and now, after 30 months, it is almost gone. Mine is not noise induced though...

Hi Mi1, I can not find a reply button to answer you in my Inbox. Anyway, I never had fullness, tightness but the hearing decreased in my right ear due to the wax buildup. Once the wax was removed, hearing became normal. I usually don't have sinus problems.

After about 3 months it was like crickets and hissing on and off but the sound was always there. The fading started after about 8 months. I never had spikes whatsoever. This is I guess due my tinnitus being non- reactive. During these 30 months after the onset, I never changed my diets or lifestyle.
