I would get some foam plugs and wear them all through the airport where you won't be wearing the muffs. They can be as effective as muffs, as far as the protective rating goes.

I think high (or low) blood pressure can cause blurry vision. Probably tinnitus as well. Diabetes can also cause blurry vision.

25 dB NRR earplugs do not reduce sound by 25 dB. They reduce it by 9 dB. The formula is 25 dB subtract 7 = 18. Then divide 18 by 2 = 9 dB reduction. UK uses SNR which adds 6 dB. So it's -13 divided by 2 = dB reduction. NA uses NRR -7 divided by 2 = dB reduction.

When I got my tinnitus my tubes were completely plugged. I carefully kept working them and after 3 days they started opening up. I also put some Vics Vaporub in a small pill bottle and sniffed it to clear the tubes.

If you plug your nose and put air pressure, do your ears get pressurized? Be very careful not to blow too hard to damage your ears. Then swallowing or yawning should equalize them.

Earplugs won't protect your ears from low frequencies (bass) or bone induction. Would it bother you if your tinnitus doubled in volume permanently?

Sound from TV's etc can be very compressed. It can also focus more on an area of frequency. The compression makes everything very loud, or prominent. That means a whisper can be as loud as a scream. This balls to the walls level (even with the volume down) can be fatiguing to listen to.

It probably wasn't the coke, but maybe it allowed you to abuse your ears with music and loud voices? If you are worried get some prednisone and really protect your hearing for a few months.

High 70's to 80dB can be loud to me. I play electric guitar and have a sound meter. I notice 74dB and up can make my t more noticeable. I keep it between 60-70dB for home practice. Once vocals are thrown in (natural voice no mics) the overall dBs will jump from 83-90+ dB. Earplugs are a must for me.

I play electric guitar and I almost always use musician's earplugs. That and I bought an LED sound meter to let me know what the dB are when I am playing. Mine is like this one but I got one with the cord connection on the side instead of the bottom so it can sit on a desk.
