I have T in both ears. Sleeping on one side vs. the other causes no difference in T volumes the next day in either ear. I wouldn't worry about it.

Depends on how shit a day I'm having! I practically never hear it whilst outside though, and I would almost never hear it in the shower. In most other indoor areas I would hear it all the time.

Hi I have experience with codeine, paracetamol, and ibuprofen after T onset. None of them caused even a temporary spike. I think ibuprofen is potentially ototoxic, but for real risk of ototoxicity you need to be taking fairly high dosage regularly for at least a couple of weeks.

Yeah, can anyone provide an answer to this? The article explains why those with genetic deafness/deafness from birth would not benefit, but not why only 1-2% of all people with hearing loss would benefit. That number seems... Disappointingly low.

No data on that yet... But I can only echo the sentiment of many when I say I'd happily swallow 50 pills a day to silence T.

This sounds like classic psuedoscience. I would love to see a reliable source that proves damage happens "years after exposure" and at "much lower levels" than 85DbA, undoing years of verifiable scientific evidence in the process.

Genuine question: through what mechanism can sounds that would in no circumstances damage hearing (<85DbA) cause a permanent increase in tinnitus volume? To me it seems clear that it could only affect perception.

I agree with Rich. The whole "in the ear for 6 months, in the brain after" seems so arbitrary to me. It's clear that T is a neuroscience problem except in the case of "disco tinnitus".

I have mid frequency and high frequency pure tones in both ears, plus a filtered sound-type thing in my right ear and a morse code thingy also in my right ear. The sounds exclusive to my right ear aren't louder but they're much harder to ignore.

I know exactly what you mean with the ringing that accompanies every sound. All I can say is I had it for a while when my T started, then it went away. I still have chronic T but that reverb thing you described is gone.

I'm sorry you feel that way dude but TRT really helped me. I know someone who suffered for over a year, before finding total relief with TRT, and I have heard anecdotes of people suffering 30 years and finding relief with TRT.

I don't think it will just stop :( Really I am not optimistic for a "cure" either. Seriously, I may be wrong, but a tinnitus cure seems like never never land. There are articles from the 90s saying that a cure is 5-10 years away... It's always 5-10 years away.

Some people report that weed makes it better, or eliminates it. Some report that it makes it worse, and some even think weed started their tinnitus. I was occasional smoker before T but afterwards I had to give it up. Tried it once and it was 10x louder for like a week.
