Possible Cochlear Hydrops — Weird Symptoms

Hey! Was initially responding to Samatha's post as that seems closest to what I'm experiencing but interesting to read your story nonetheless. Do you have constant fullness going on? Mine is slightly different in a way that I get these episodes quite often. Sometimes very small (slight...

Hey, thanks! Was away from here as I was not having that much of a problem for a while. Here I am, having a flare up again ugh. I think I've finally nailed down the reason for my hydrops episodes, definitely autoimmune/allergy induced as it comes with systemic symptoms.

Sorry, very late with this reply. Right now I'm very certain that all my ear problems are allergy induced! I had them under control for a while but unfortunately got worse again. Next I'll be giving a shot to combination antihistamines and singulair. How are you doing?

Possible Cochlear Hydrops — Weird Symptoms

Hi! I read through your experiences with cochlear hydrops. I've had a very similar case for the past 2 years. I still have episodes, struggling with one right now as we speak that started few hours ago. Mine has always been bilateral too. How's it going for you, any flare ups? Definitely...

Thinking About Taking a Music Production Class

I didn't have any room treatment back then, so yeah I used to mix and reference a lot with headphones (and loud volumes, because young and stupid). Checking wideness of the mix with headphones is quite important in EDM as well, but I've started using lots of reference tracks to eliminate...

Thinking About Taking a Music Production Class

It ain't easiest for your ears, but what are your priorities? I've been producing since age of 13 and I'm now 22 with mild tinnitus and hyperacusis. No way I'm stopping anymore though, I just dont use headphones anymore and I'm mixing entirely with monitors. Ear fatigue is vicious though and...

    Slightly Muffled Hearing During Cold

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, maybe it was just that. Thankfully it got back to normal this morning.

    Why Advise Against Headphones?

As a music producer, I've completely stopped using cans. After long sessions, I found my tinnitus way more intrusive and in worst cases, hearing distortion. After switching to speakers, and of course making sure to keep the volume reasonable, I've felt better. As a neat byproduct, my mixdowns...

    Slightly Muffled Hearing During Cold

Hi, So I'm 2nd day in to a slight cold. Not a big deal, just a bit sore throat, cough and fatigue. However, I've been very stressed of my ears recently and just noticed that my right ear feels slightly more muffled compared to left. I checked out with a phone app and noticed that over 13 kHz...

Young Adults with Tinnitus — Please Respond in Solidarity

Hey, sorry wrote that in a hurry. Didn't mean ear infection, no. Just a weird flu/something that left me with a mysterious rash and weird prickly feelings all over body that come and go. And the hearing problems. It's been a year and all of those still exist. Doctors have no clue so I'm pretty...

Young Adults with Tinnitus — Please Respond in Solidarity

21 here with plenty of ear problems. Started with a bad infection, got sudden hearing loss right after, which turned to be a bilateral cochlear hydrops. I've had maybe a dozen episodes already, luckily hearing has always recovered. It's been a year now and the symptoms of the infection are...

Post Nasal Drip Causing Rumbling Tinnitus?

@Deniseh Thanks for replying! I'm still not completely sure if mine's because of post nasal drip, but it seems like long term inflammation in sinuses causing chronic post nasal drip might be a cause. I've had a weird infection for over a year now with post nasal drip that doctors have no clue...

Post Nasal Drip Causing Rumbling Tinnitus?

@Mister Muso Yeah, 50-80 Hz sounds about right. Was your rumble noise induced as well? That's quite interesting as low frequencies should be the hardest to injure. I have a feeling that mine is mechanical and somehow linked to eustachian tubes and constant inflammation. How well have you...

Nobody experienced anything like this? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Post Nasal Drip Causing Rumbling Tinnitus?

So, I've had chronic post nasal drip for over a year now with no clear reason. It might have been a leftover of an infection I had. Last summer I developed a very low like 80 Hz rumbling mainly in my left ear, but is in both ears. It just was there one morning I woke up. Now I've tried lots of...

Left Ear Now Translates Loud Sounds Into a High Pitch

Could be an episode of sudden sensorineural hearing loss? I've had that, and the symptoms were exactly same: usually a ringing that overlays on top of sounds such as running water, crubling paper bag, and scraping your ear with hand. I feel like this happens because of a major hearing loss on a...

Any Upcoming Treatments for Mid-Range Hearing Loss?

Alright, thanks for clarifying! Sounds interesting. Haven't heard about Otomagnetics yet.

Any Upcoming Treatments for Mid-Range Hearing Loss?

The hearing loss is not that bad yet, but is likely progressive and already causing a quite distressing multi tonal tinnitus on that frequency range.

Any Upcoming Treatments for Mid-Range Hearing Loss?

Hi, I've been been diagnosed with mid-frequency hearing loss. I have otherwise normal audiogram and can hear all the way till 18 kHz, but 1 kHz and 2 kHz are symmetrically down about 20 dB making a notch in both ears. It's speculated that it is genetic, but I don't know of any relatives with...

Advice on Stressful Hearing Problems — Cochlear Hydrops Developing into Meniere's Disease?

Hi! I'm 21 year old music producer/audio engineer and been going through some hard times. Last year, after moving to a big city for studies, I experienced a sudden hearing loss in my left ear without any noise trauma or anything. I promptly got to a doctor next day and got a regime for...
