I Have Kept Making My Hyperacusis Worse for Years — No More!

I had burning ear pain in 2019-2020 from 1.5 h commuting with my car. And I was lucky that COVID-19 came and I could sit in my apartment 24/7 with earmuffs and recover as I could work from home. Probably otherwise I would have completely destroyed my ears before quitting my job. I can assure you...

I Have Kept Making My Hyperacusis Worse for Years — No More!

This is maybe correct for someone with healthy ears. But for someone who already has tinnitus and hyperacusis, this is bad advice. One should not neglect the pain signals that the body is sending. Maybe some also improve by ignoring the pain, but you are then playing with fire as you could end...

    War in Ukraine — Megathread

I am not so sure if you can say that Russia allied with China. China probably does not want to break all economic ties with the west. I think a few billions each year for a few years is possible. By the way this gives probably a good boost to the US defense industry and Europe is now buying...

    War in Ukraine — Megathread

I am wondering why there is such scepticism in the USA when it comes to supporting Ukraine. I think there was no such scepticism during the Afghanistan & Iraq war and now we have a war in Europe. And they only need military aid and money. No US trooper will risk his life there.

Pain Hyperacusis in Relation to Acoustic Shock & Synapse Disconnection

It has improved. I have the feeling that 24/7 hearing protection loosens up those ear muscles and thereby improves hyperacusis. I have also read elsewhere here that tense ear muscles are related to hyperacusis.

I have had this since 2019. I don't think its drug induced. I did a lot of driving in that year without hearing protection and that did spike my T often and then also gave me ear canal burning/pain hyperacusis. With this also the palinacousis came.

Ok, that's not nice. But it probably hasn't set you back two years. Just remember that we always need to wear hearing protection as those random events can occur anytime. Noise Cancelling Headphones for Car / Bus Engine Noise
