    Suicidal

If you're in Cali, there are resources that may be able to help you, including supplemental income; however, you may have to advocate for yourself to push yourself through the line, as it can be long. It's unfortunate that the social services in the United States, in general, are inadequate.

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

Everything is anecdotal-meaning it's based on user experience my good friend :). There is no scientific evidence to stay one AD is better or worse than the other for tinnitus. When it comes to Effexor it doesn't come up as much as, lets say, amitriptyline in terms of helping people. This doesn't...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

Most anecdotal evidence on here when it comes to ADs and tinnitus tends to be negative. Among the AD's Effexor tends to be at the bottom of the totem pole. But remember it's anecdotal and people's experience vary; for some they work for others they don't. And if it works then people don't have...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

I've read on different forums, Paxil (Paroxetine) being beneficial in very low dosages (5mg) for some. Mind you these are anecdotal. Have you tried any TCA's?

How Do You Know If Tinnitus Is from TMJ?

Is it possible to get TMJ splint with a missing molar, while waiting for an implant? I haven’t pulled the tooth out but its on a root canal that’s reinfected and close to my sinus-very close. And I think extraction is the best route. I can’t see DDS because of the coronavirus. Any experience...

What Kind of Aid Does Your Country Offer for Disabilities?

Unfortunately, very little support in the states. To qualify for disability is difficult... and would be in our case on the basis of mental health and since I had worked previously as a therapist I can tell you it's not easy to qualify. But since we live in the same city, I don't know if the...

Tinnitus, TMJ, Headaches, Neck Pain, Facial Pain, etc. — Possible Treatment

I have TMJ. I have clicking/pop on my left jaw but my tinnitus is on my right side. I always thought my tinnitus was due to stress/anxiety. But I am not sure now. When I press/put pressure on my right side of jaw, there is a shift in noise, so is applying acupressure. My bite's off too. Most...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

I’am sorry for your pain. That being said each SSRI’s different and how they affect people varies. I know you can take some sort of a test that will tell you based on your genes which antidepressant might be helpful. I think even for that you may need to get a order filled from your doctor. You...

Vitamin Supplement (Nicotinamide Riboside) Successfully Prevents Noise-Induced Hearing Loss

I take 600mg but FGG might be taken 900 from what I’ve read. 500-600mg seems to be effective dosage. I have not noticed any side effects at 600mg. The only thing is that its probably the most expensive supplement I have taken and I don’t know which brand is the best one.

What dosages are you on? And are you on the extended release? It’s a real heavy drug. People that claim to benefit from it generally have taken the non-extended -release version. Lack of sleep always has a negative effect on my tinnitus, and most people here will concur that (lack of sleep...

Lithium Orotate (Natural Supplement) for Fluctuating Tinnitus, Mood Swings, Depression, and Anxiety?

The first two days and it seem to help, however this could just be just a placebo effect after that it started to lose its efficacy. I tried to play around with the dosages and increase up to 15 mg, however it does nothing to really quell my anxiety, which really impacts my tinnitus. Maybe this...

Hi Dr. Nagler, Thank you for taking your time to answer my question. About 2+ weeks ago, I've began to experience really bad sleep (1-4 hours). Lack of proper sleep effects the perception of my tinnitus, so I decided to take melatonin, but it didn't do much for my sleep. I decided than try...
