Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

Yeah, I know, should've said one of few or the most common but I was in a bit of a hurry :angelic: but my point stands that it doesn't tell us everything and many of us have perfect audiograms etc, despite having severe tinnitus.

My audiograms are perfect. Straight up perfect. I have at most a -5 dB dip. My speech in noise test came back at 100%. Yet I have several loud intrusive reactive tones. Obviously anything that may improve my tinnitus isn't going to improve my audiogram because it's literally impossible to...

To Whomever Needs Some Words of Hope — Tinnitus Is Only a Noise

Hey Tara - I just want to give some words of encouragement. It's totally okay to be upset and worried and mad and whatever else you are feeling right now. I'm at a similar time frame as you and I still get very worried and often feel defeated. However, I've also picked up some hobbies again and...

Poll: How Much Does Your Tinnitus Volume Fluctuate?

Mine changes with the second sometimes. What it reacts to is never ALWAYS the same thing. That said I picked moderately because...

Challenging the Current Terminology of Hyperacusis

I too believe that if my tinnitus were completely stable - with the exception of one tone - it would be 100% manageable. What's strange is that I have no hyperacusis symptoms except for really oddly presenting reactive tinnitus. It's can react to any sound/frequency but seems to mostly react to...

Many people have had their tinnitus actually go away. Does depend on the cause, but even then stranger things have happened. Just think people who had tinnitus due to earwax blockage. It is possible if we can treat the root cause — and that's the issue. We can't (yet).

The Bionics Institute Claim They Have Found a Way of Objectively Measuring Tinnitus

This might lead to just that. To date there is no way to measure tinnitus objectively. Anything that might help us is based on anecdotal reports. This could help us as it would prove treatments work.

Some people have tinnitus so minor they don't realise it's tinnitus. Some have had it so long they think the noise IS silence. That said, for the majority, they DO know when they have tinnitus. How Many People Here Have Noise-Induced Tinnitus but Good Audiograms?

My audiogram detected no significant loss whatsoever. Between 250 Hz and 8000 Hz, it's all between -5 dB and +5 dB. Yet I have several screaming, reactive and competing tones and other ear issues. Suspecting a combination of noise, whiplash and stress/anxiety for mine. Haven't had any...

It's a musician talking about his tinnitus that got me wearing earplugs and lower my headphone volume and usage (I'd take regular breaks). It's an unfortunate 100 dB alarm for 2 seconds, a neck injury and extreme anxiety/stress that got me into this mess, lol. Anyway, I've since found that...

Middle Ear Damage from Noxious Noise

I had a little TTTS that cleared up months ago (and and was very on and off when it was present). Strangely enough this was in my better and less reactive ear. My other ear, which is more reactive, gets random twitching unrelated to noise. I actually think it's related to a tube problem, as...

Does Reactive Tinnitus Only Appear with Hyperacusis?

My tinnitus competes and spikes to random noise, both soft and loud (and randomly because the same sound doesn't always cause it to get louder) however I have no noise sensitivity* or pain. * There's always been noises I dislike but cause no pain or sound louder etc. Just a sensory issue.
