You should try a diuretic to see if that would help since it could be cochlear hydrops.

It can get very loud. But also can go back down. Unless you had new acoustic trauma of some sort this may well be a spike and go back down over time. I had a spike that lasted 4 months. Try to relax and get your mind off it the best you can. I know easier said than done.

The only treatments I’m aware of are steroids and a diuretic + lowering salt and sugar intake. If that takes down the fluid build up in the inner ear some hearing may come back.

I’ve had my distortions for 4 months now. They haven’t gone away. Some days it’s easier to hear them and other days it’s harder. If the sound is loud enough I will always hear it. I also have regular constant tinnitus coupled with it. As well as ear fullness that varies in intensity.

I would try not taking it and seeing how that goes. Also get a hearing test to see if you’ve lost any hearing. You’re girlfriend should be understanding of this. As well as there are other ways for you to be intimate with her.
