Turmeric with Curcumin Seems to Be Helping

Thanks for the link. I've heard turmeric especially has been known to contain lead, so I'll try not to overdue it. Taking 2g occasionally at most, hopefully this helps.

Turmeric with Curcumin Seems to Be Helping

I stupidly took 2 grams of curcumin (2g of curcumin, not 2g of turmeric) after a loud noise exposure. Am I going to die?

Vitamin Supplement (Nicotinamide Riboside) Successfully Prevents Noise-Induced Hearing Loss

Cool. Taking 300 mg for now. Would it be risky to try a higher "therapeutic" dose? I couldn't find a lot of studies, and wasn't sure if taking a higher dose was worth any risk. Just really concerned about this noise exposure from yesterday...

Tinnitus Worse After Listening to Boyfriend's Band Practicing Music: Looking for Support

Try taking some NAC, and Nicotinamide Riboside. They both can be found at any supplement store. May help reduce oxidative stress which might help your hearing heal. But really, try not to worry. The brain has a massive effect on tinnitus, both its loudness, and intensity. The auditory system...

    N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)

Anyone know if NAC is known to contain lead like many other supplements? Having a really hard time finding good info about which supplements contain lead, and which ones don't. Might just stop taking them altogether unless I can find some solid info. :/ Currently taking Jarrow Formula's 500mg...

It does get better. The mind plays a huge role in tinnitus, for some more than others. For me, I had to train my mind to remain in a calm state, whilst intentionally listening to my T. It is a very difficult skill to learn, but once you master it, habituation becomes much easier, and the...

Awesome, this makes me feel much better! You never know for sure, but they do seem pretty legit, and confident behind their products. Gonna go find some of this and try it out. Much appreciated!

Turmeric with Curcumin Seems to Be Helping

Awesome. Thank you for this. I still think it's not worth the risk. Never know if a company will suddenly source Turmeric from another supplier, and the risk of intaking any amount of lead is just not worth it to me. Sucks because it really seems to help.

Doctor Thinks There Could Be Something Wrong with the Anatomy of My Ear and Ordered a CT Scan...

My doctor ordered a CT scan, despite my last MRI (no dye) showing no issues. I have experienced SSHL in my right ear, which recovered (at least mostly) on its own in 24 hours. My right ear has a slight loss in the lower frequencies compared to the left, and has slightly worse tinnitus in the...

Turmeric with Curcumin Seems to Be Helping

There are dozens of articles online about spices being traded worldwide possibly containing lead, which is of course extremely toxic to the nervous system. My ears are inflamed, and turmeric seems to help. This is the bottle I got from Whole Foods here in the US. Can someone please somehow...

Tinnitus Spike from Snapping a Tree Branch — Possibility of It Being Permanent?

99.99999% chance you triggered a fight or flight anxiety response. It's the biggest reason we see posts like these. Try to relax, you'll be fine. If it calms your mind, take some antioxidant supplements for any inflammation, and some vitamins.

Am I Taking Too Many Supplements Since My Tinnitus Is Spiking?

This is a good point, however I'm trying to do what I can during the acute phase of this spike for best chance of recovery. I've been through several spikes, and they usually reside on their own, but this is more precautionary I suppose.

Am I Taking Too Many Supplements Since My Tinnitus Is Spiking?

I'm experiencing a bit of a tinnitus spike these past couple of days, and I have been taking 1200 mg of NAC, some Magnesium, Alpha Lipoic Acid, C, D3, and some multivitamins. I heard that Glutathione may help some, and I may add in some A, B, E, Selenium... But, my question is, at what point...

High Dose Vitamin D3 for Tinnitus Relief

I agree. Thankfully the majority of my tinnitus is (probably) not caused from hearing loss, but other issues with my health. I think those with noise induced tinnitus have a harder time changing their tinnitus severity. Let me know if the D3 ends up helping you if you do decide to take it.

High Dose Vitamin D3 for Tinnitus Relief

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt short term, but I'm no doctor. Is your tinnitus affected easily by factors such as your diet, sleep, stress, etc? My tinnitus can be easily worsened by a poor diet, lack of sleep, and many other things. Because tinnitus is so complicated, I don't believe that any one...

High Dose Vitamin D3 for Tinnitus Relief

It was either 1,000 IU or 2,000 IU. I wouldn't go too crazy with it. I took 1,000 IU today, and my tinnitus seems quieter, but again I really can't say if it's due to the D3 or not. My tinnitus intensity varies wildly throughout the day, and is affected by lots of factors. I may try taking it on...

High Dose Vitamin D3 for Tinnitus Relief

About a week ago, I took Magnesium, D3, and C all at once, and noticed a significant reduction in my tinnitus. If I had to guess, it was mostly from the Vitamin D, as I do not take this often. Could have been placebo. I haven't been taking many supplements recently, but I'll try the vitamin D...

Shower Causing a Temporary Tinnitus Spike?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but you guys sound ridiculous! This is not some crazy phenomenon, tinnitus spikes after a shower because you are abruptly removing the masking sound when the water is shut off. This is extremely common, and is simply a fight or flight response. Tinnitus gets louder...

Elon Musk’s Neuralink Looking to Treat Tinnitus

I feel like people are underestimating the potential here. You are literally inserting a microcontroller into the brain, that we already know is capable of writing/reading data within the brain. Regardless of what it will treat, and when, this is already providing us a brand new platform for...

Elon Musk’s Neuralink Looking to Treat Tinnitus

Just the fact that it's a prosthetic doesn't tell us anything about its potential. A microphone works pretty damn well, surely better than human ears. If we can just make the right connections within the auditory cortex, boom, problem solved. Not saying it will be easy, but we have very strong...

Good ENTs for Tinnitus in the Seattle Area?

Elon Musk’s Neuralink Looking to Treat Tinnitus

Respectfully, you still haven't given any reasoning or evidence as to why it would have a poor outcome. You're just stating that it would likely have a poor outcome. The entire nervous system/brain works by sending/receiving electrical signals. The device is literally a computer that...

Elon Musk’s Neuralink Looking to Treat Tinnitus

Hearing loss, and even deafness is one of the main things they look to treat, which they talked about in their recent presentation (I would highly recommend you check it out). Essentially a microphone would send inputs to the auditory cortex, giving deaf people the ability to hear again, and...

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

Yeah you’re probably right. I just measured it with my SPL meter and read 94 dB. I’m sure it wasn’t more than 100 dB at most when accounting for inaccuracies in this cheap meter. 3 seconds of exposure to 100 dB probably isn’t worth the health risks included with taking steroids. Never know.

I took Prednisone for about 6 days, then stopped for 2 days, started again with one full dose and a 6-day taper. Finished the taper I believe on the 31st, so like, 6 days ago. Too soon to start another round? I have 4 days worth sitting around. I was exposed to a few seconds of a loud car...

Anxiety and Tinnitus Taking Over My Life

Elon Musk’s Neuralink Looking to Treat Tinnitus

Elon Musk’s Neuralink Looking to Treat Tinnitus

I believe Neuralink is our greatest hope for a cure. Elon states that Neurolink, in principle, can fix anything that is wrong with the brain. This makes sense, as the brain (at a high level) works by sending electrical signals. The implant has already proven successful at reading precise limb...
