Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

Well, I was on one of the steroid rounds about 2-3 weeks ago, and the other like, a week ago. So I've been off the steroids now for about a week-ish.

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

It's been a month and I even went to the hospital. I don't know what else to do. I called every ENT in my area and the soonest I can get in is May 19th which is about 2 weeks away. I guess I'm just screwed.

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

My primary doctor just wrote me a script for Valium, and I will be going off of my other medication I am currently on (Klonopin). I am a bit worried about this change but I am so desperate I will do anything.

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

The steroids I was on was 10 mg of Prednisone. I started with taking 6 pills a day and reducing one pill every day until it was gone. I did that twice, with antibiotics. The hearing loss has not resolved. Just 2 weeks ago I could hear the "beep" on my thermometer and now I can't hear it at all...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

I posted on here about a month ago about some sudden increase in tinnitus and overall losing my sanity over it. Since then, I have now seen an ENT, my primary doctor twice (who gave me steroids and antibiotics TWICE), a dentist (I had suspected maybe a wisdom tooth could have been the issue)...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

Wanted to post a small update to see if this is uncommon or something I should be more concerned about. For the last day and a half, my "good" ear has now basically become worse than my "bad" ear. The tinnitus is just as bad now, and I have this weird sensation similar to having fluid in your...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

I'm actually concerned that having the tooth removed may make it worse. I don't think there's a win no matter what I do. Also, I'm not sure how my other ear would be affected, but I'm no doctor. The strange part is there is no pain at all. None.

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

Sorry for not posting the last two days. On Saturday, I thought a miracle may have been bestowed upon me as MOST of the tinnitus had seemed to subside. I woke up Sunday and it was worse than it was the previous few days. I'm really just at the point where I just want to give up. All these tears...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

I will absolutely be looking into the NAC, and I'll check with my doctor about it as soon as I can actually get a hold of him, lol. As far as the fluid thing is concerned, I'm starting to wonder if it has something to do with my CPAP machine, in which case, that would really suck. I have been...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

It feels good just to read that I'm not alone. I just wish it would go away! I already take tons of different supplements and medication which is why I'll probably have to have another talk with my doctor about Magnesium or the NAC. I actually just went out today and bought some disposable mouth...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

I have never heard of NAC before, I have heard of another supplement before (can't remember the name) that an old ENT said "might help", but it never did. I don't recall it being NAC though. I take lots of different things for various health issues so I'm not even sure if I'd be able to take...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

Yeah, I'm really at a loss. I'm putting my faith in these drops which I know is a long shot. I am a bit relieved to hear that the drops aren't as harmful as I originally thought. Probably my biggest fear at this point is that it still has something to do with my wisdom tooth or TMJ, both of...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

The ENT said both ears looked "a little inflamed" which I guess is why he prescribed the drops. I'm conflicted on whether to continue use as the doc asked, or listen to the advice on here. I honestly just want it to go away so badly. I'd give the world.

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

They were pretty adamant about not stopping them until I used them up, so I'm conflicted. It seems whether I use them or not, it's the same. So far, at least. I just want relief and don't know how else to get it. I have a hunch it is/was some sort of infection at some point, maybe it is still...

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

No pain before or after using them. Just the "standard" ear drops I suppose - it says Neomycin, Polymyxin, and Hydrocortisone Otic.

I have not heard anybody with that issue before. Hope it gets better for you!

Sudden Increase in Tinnitus; I'm Losing My Mind

Hello, About 12 years ago, I went to the doctor because I thought I had some bad earwax buildup causing constant ringing in my ears, but worse on one side. Turns out, I was wrong. I saw an ENT and was told I had mild hearing loss, probably from being around lots of noise when I was younger...
