Can Prednisone Cause Your Tinnitus to Increase While Taking It?

Hi there, unfortunately no. But that doesn't mean your case will be the same as mine. In the beginning stages when I took Prednisone it did not aggravate it. Only last spring, after sound exposure, it made it worse, but so did Cephalexin, an antibiotic. I've had recent noise exposure and...

Exposed to Snowblower without Hearing Protection — Tinnitus Now Very Loud and High-Pitched

@Lane, ok, it’s been two weeks and it hasn’t come down. I knew better then to continue to shovel with the snowblower so close but I didn’t want to be rude and just leave when he came to help.

Extreme Anxiety & Depression, My Body Is Restless & Fatigued, Antidepressants Make My Tinnitus Worse

Can you try and mask the tinnitus with sound? Either with YouTube or on your phone. I know it's not fun to do. I wish there was something I could do or say, I know what you are feeling and going through. Nothing seems to help when in this state. Is there someone you are close to you can talk...

Tinnitus and Stress — Is Anxiety a Common Pre-Existing Trait in Tinnitus Sufferers?

I think tinnitus is enough to make anyone anxious, even without a history of anxiety. When we tell people what tinnitus is, to those who don't have it, they say they wouldn't want it and couldn't stand it if they got it for some seconds. So that says something.

Exposed to Snowblower without Hearing Protection — Tinnitus Now Very Loud and High-Pitched

A man came to help me with my driveway after a snowstorm with his snowblower and I did not protect my ears. I already have hearing loss at 50 dB at 6000 Hz. I never imagined the noise could get this loud and high pitched. I'm struggling. Back to a few hours of sleep and panic. I was finally...

Tinnitus After Anxiety/Stress, Worsened by Escitaloprám + Other Drugs — What to Do!

With my experiences, I had to learn to listen to my own body and how I'm feeling, not what doctors told me and believing them. If you feel that a certain medication is exasperating your condition, or contributed to it, trust that. I am taking Ativan for the anxiety and Zopiclone to help sleep...

Tinnitus After Anxiety/Stress, Worsened by Escitaloprám + Other Drugs — What to Do!

I was taking Celexa when my tinnitus started. The tinnitus was mild at the time. For me personally, I noticed some antidepressants made it worse so I’m very careful now. I will know not long after I take a tablet if it’s louder. I think it’s different for everyone. What bothers me might not...

ENT Said I'm Too Young to Have Hyperacusis and That It's Just Anxiety

It is not your imagination. I’ve been dealt the anxiety card too often. I’m so sorry you had to experience this well too often complaint from seeing a specialist. Poll: Do You Think Stress Can Lead to Hearing Loss and Tinnitus?

For me, stress has always exacerbated my tinnitus, but not caused it. Stress can do many things, effect many parts of the body, even kill. If they can make medications for "imbalances" in the brain, then I don't understand why they can't just make a medication to calm the firing neurons from the...

After Naproxen/Dilaudid My Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Have Worsened Remarkably

@Forever hopeful, I used to take Advil but stopped after being told that it can aggravate it. But the Naproxen did worsen it I could tell after 20 minutes of taking it and was on it for over a week. I'm on day 3 of not taking it and it's still quite bad. I'll never touch it again.

    Can Mild Tinnitus Remain Mild?

It depends. A lot of people it stays the same, maybe fluctuates a bit but as long as your not exposed to severely loud noises you should be ok. But it can get worse, unfortunately there are no guarentees with this condition.

I want to talk about the experiences I had when all this started. Doctors look at me like I'm crazy and blame everything on anxiety. I went to the ER when I found my tinnitus unmanageable in the beginning. The doctor told me that there was nothing wrong with my ears and that anxiety was the...

Riding Dirtbikes — Will I Get a Tinnitus Spike?

I would not take the chance. The damage can become cumulative over time. The worse the tinnitus gets and hearing loss the easier it is for these types of sounds to kill off the damaged cells in the ears. The result will be louder tinnitus and further damage to your hearing. Wear plugs all the time.
