    Rinri Therapeutics

I have been severely to profoundly deaf for over half a century. I discovered my hearing loss as a boy, and doctors have always told me that the cause was likely the streptomycin I was given as a child to treat another serious illness. They also believe the measles I had as a child may have...

    Rinri Therapeutics

So, this is not suitable for sensorineural deafness like mine?

    Rinri Therapeutics

Forgive my ignorance, but from what I have read, the drug will be injected directly into the auditory nerve. Should I assume that it will target only the auditory nerve and not the hair cells? I suffer from severe to profound sensorineural deafness caused by ototoxic drugs. Could this treatment...

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

So are FX-322 and FX-345 over for good, or can we hope for some more research?

Could someone post a summary? I can't get subtitles in my language :( Thank you.

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

I suffer from bilateral hearing loss due to ototoxic drugs. From 100 Hz to 2000 Hz I have an average loss of 70-80 dB, while from 2000 Hz to 8000 Hz the loss is 100-110 dB on average. I don't understand how FX-322 can improve word recognition if it doesn't improve the audiogram. 10 dB...

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

I took a look at the previous slides, but one thing is not clear to me: in percentage terms, how much hearing loss could be recovered? I have severe hearing loss up to 2,000 Hz and profound hearing loss from 2,000 Hz onwards: can an improvement from severe/profound to medium hearing loss be...

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

Forgive my ignorance, but will a person with a cochlear implant still be able to take advantage of this treatment? Or is their cochlea now compromised?

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

Not having a command of the English language, I cannot participate. I would be very grateful if you could provide a summary. Thank you.

Novartis Pauses Study of GenVec's Gene Therapy CFG166 (UPDATE May 2016: Trial Is Again Continuing)

I'm trying to interpret these results, but I can't. Basically it recovered over 20 dB on the low frequencies and little, or even nothing, on the high frequencies? Has the research been completely abandoned or is it still ongoing?

Gene Discovery Allows the Production of Inner or Outer Ear Hair Cells (Northwestern University)

Will this cure also have to go through the various 1-2-3 clinical trial steps and be FDA approved before eventually being marketed?

Otonomy OTO-413 — Treatment of Hidden Hearing Loss

Could it also depend on the residual hearing? Little residue = little chance for improvement?

Otonomy OTO-413 — Treatment of Hidden Hearing Loss

I have looked at the presentation, and I understand that OTO-413 will only be suitable for moderate / severe hearing loss but not for profound hearing loss (over 90 dB): is that correct? So whoever has profound hearing loss will not find any benefit from either OTO-413 or FX-345?

Otonomy OTO-413 — Treatment of Hidden Hearing Loss

Sorry for the ignorance, but how many decibels does a clinically-meaningful improvement correspond to? I seem to remember 20 dB but maybe I'm wrong.

Hough Ear Institute's Hair Cell Regeneration Project

Hello everybody. I have read this long thread, but one thing is still not clear to me: will this treatment (assuming it works) also work with cases of sensorineural hearing loss? Or only with the noise-induced cases?
