Like plain, boat trips, sea, city streets, country trip in the car...all quite noisy activities, but I gradually became more comfortable around noises as I was not constantly thinking about T (however still with...

I had crazy reactivity at the beginning too-breath of my spouse sleeping next to me was spiking me, movement of bedsheet, car outside etc. I wore earplugs all the time. I started to walk outside in the quiet park or forest to just listen to nature sounds. I still have it, but much better.

    I Beat Tinnitus — A Beginner’s Primer

Hi @Estan, so did you habituate or did your tinnitus fade away? If you habituated, do you hear it all the time and don't care or do you hear it only when you think about it? Good you are on the other side now doing good.

Hi Theezy, thank you for asking and sorry for late answer. I try to limit my time in here. I'm doing little better, but I got new tone to my previously good ear and some dizziness. Don't know if it was because of the stress or neck issues. Im trying to outlast this. Hang in there, I believe it...

    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Update: I finished all planned HBOT sessions in a private facility. During the course of sessions, I realized that the treatment is mild HBOT because of the lower pressures used. After the sessions ended, I contacted my ENT, asking if he can prescribe me another sessions in a big hospital...

If Tinnitus Is from Ear Infection, Shouldn't the Infection Have Caused Some Physical Damage?

Middle ear infection can cause permanent damage. Viruses or bacterial toxic metabolites can travel to inner ear and damage structures there. Also hematogenic route is possible (virus travels through the blood). Interestingly, I saw a paper with autopsy results of inner ears of people who had...

Tinnitus Almost Gone in Quiet Environments — Gets Worse with More Background Noise

This is exactly what I have right now. My tinnitus is silent (or almost silent) in complete silence, but all background noise aggravate it, then it recedes after noise is gone. It also accumulates during the day, meaning that mornings are mostly calm and during the day the tinnitus is more...

    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

So, I will be ending my second round of 10 sessions of HBOT soon. I'm undergoing them in private facility and I realized that they don't have the desired pressure. All of available private facilities in my country have chambers with pressures below 1.5 ATA. All the research studies I have seen...

    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

I underwent 10 HBOT sessions (10 consecutive days) and I have to say that it did help. I had very mild hearing loss in high frequencies and now my audiogram is back to normal (up to 8 kHz) and my tinnitus is somewhat better. I took a lot of antioxidants and vitamins during the course of the...

If Tinnitus Improves, Does It Mean the Hair Cells Are Getting Back to Normal?

I was thinking about this exact thing today. There are reports of people who gets better or their tinnitus fades to silence after noise damage (hair cell damage), infection (where bacterial/viral toxins damage hair cells) etc. Why is that? Why do they improve or their tinnitus completely fades...

Post Your Current Medication / Supplement Stack

Right after tinnitus onset I started with Prednisone, Betahistine, Ginkgo biloba, Magnesium and B vitamins. 10 days later I was scheduled for my first HBOT and I read here that it is good to take some antioxidants while doing HBOT so I added the rest. That is a good idea.
