Noise Sensitivity, Ear Fullness, Ear Pain, and Tinnitus After Shooting a 9mm at an Indoor Gun Range

Hi, welcome! I am sorry to hear that you have found yourself here and are now dealing with this condition. You are already doing a great job by keeping digital volumes low and avoiding headphones. That is an excellent start. Remember to also take regular breaks from listening, even if the...

Tinnitus from One Loud Piano-Rock Concert

I think we might have a similar experience with tinnitus. The first year is especially challenging and can feel like absolute hell, but it should improve over time. As for flying, it might be okay, but be sure to bring foam earplugs just in case. Wishing you the best of luck!

Tinnitus from One Loud Piano-Rock Concert

Welcome! I am sorry to hear that you have developed this condition as well. For now, I recommend avoiding headphones entirely. However, if you absolutely must use them (like me, since I cannot live without music), make sure to keep the volume extremely low. Personally, I use about 2 percent...

Do You Have a Problem with Misophonia, and If So, Which Sounds?

Yep, I do that too, but not in public. It’s embarrassing, but it’s my genuine, unfiltered reaction. I also can’t stand high-pitched laughter or happy screeching. It doesn’t matter whether the person is happy or sad—the high-pitched noises are just so annoying.

@weehiru Yeah I've heard of them but, I've also heard people thought they were uncomfortable so I don't know if I will be able to wear them for a long commute. But maybe I should still give them a try, it's at least cheaper than buying custom earplugs from an audiologist.

Earplugs keep falling out of my ears :/ idk if this is even viable, I might have to try different tip sizes. Kinda nervous to do that though since last time I went one size higher and it felt uncomfortable but might be because I didn't insert it correctly idk. This is annoying.

Can I Use Headphones with Unilateral Tinnitus?

I’d say it’s safe, but make sure to take frequent breaks—a lot of breaks. And keep the volume very low. I personally use 4% volume on Windows. The longer you listen, the higher the risk, so avoid any 10+ hour binges like I, unfortunately, have done.

Tinnitus Spike in One Ear with Numbness and Fullness: Seeking Advice

Yeah, I can relate. I’m pretty sure mine was due to my own mistake. I accidentally had my headphones on at 100% volume with white noise for about a second.
