@kingsfan @Tryn2BHopeful Thanks for the reply. Either way, no understanding of my plight or desire to help in the best possible way back to a functioning life. The funny thing was that doctor himself had T, but probably mild and stable. I think my doctor would also have felt very bad if his T...
Back as a nurse. Back to all the responsibilities and stress. Hard to concentrate because of T and depression. Afraid I'm endangering other people's health, giving wrong meds, making wrong decisions. Getting rid of my nurse's license. The doctor also refused to let me slowly come back. So 100%...
@AfroSnowman Every time my T has worsened I have managed to habituate and get my life back, my H has also decreased. But now my T is much, much louder and so many, many more sounds. Damn, how I miss my old life and my old T. But I hope that in time I can be happy again. Wish you the same.
Hej @Mymlan! På ren svenska, tack för din fantastiska berättelse!
Thank you for your amazing success story!
Sorry that you also had to join the tinnitus club, but fantastic that you got your tinnitus quieter and your life back. When everything feels difficult, I think of your story and try to...
None of us chose to be born into this world. We definitely did not choose to suffer from tinnitus. It should be everyone's right to choose their own death with dignity if you have tried everything but life is still a great chronic pain. Unfortunately, it is the case that decision-makers, who...
I imagine a cabin in the woods on a cold snowy winter evening. Sitting in front of a warm fire. My T is a beeping and humming fridge and a beeping radiator in that cozy cabin, and the wind blows through the chimney.
My CBT exercise is to imagine a place that feels peaceful. Think about that you visit this place, how it looks, smells, feels, etc. Then listen to your T and imagine that your T is some other sound in that environment, something more peaceful (maybe something similar to what it sounds like)...
@AfroSnowman Hope it have helped you cope better. Feels like it's one of the few things you can do because there's no cure. Learn to live with it as best you can.
@kingsfan @Tryn2BHopeful Sad to hear, but I understand you. Have also gone through CBT/met a psychologist where they had no understanding of T and the suffering. Hope it will be better this time. In any case, it feels good that they only work with T patients.
@RunningMan No, they have not offered me those, but may ask them on the next visit if there is a possibility. Am also afraid of aggravating my T as it is very reactive. Have you tried TRT?
@BrOKeN_1 I didn't know about it either until they showed a documentary at school about T. Remember coming home and listening to the silence and realizing it could go away.
@gameover Yes, Covid is very sneaky. Good you are having better days despite the suffering and that your T is calming down during the day, that is a step in the right direction. I hope with time you get well again, despite T and H.
@RunningMan I agree, I was so afraid of covid because of T, but after this I'm terrified. Sorry to hear that nothing you tried worked. Missing falling asleep in peace and waking up refreshed.
@streifzug I don't wish T on my worst enemy or getting chronically ill in any other way. Thank you for your concern, I also hope you feel better soon. Although it is very, very difficult, we are not alone.
Guten Abend @streifzug I understand how you feel living with your T, its hard. Life will not be the same as before with loud T. Have read your thread and I am very sorry to hear that you also suffer from schizophrenia. I don't have it myself, but have people close to me and have also worked with...
Hi @Marshall great to hear you can sleep well. Not easy with loud T. When you sleep well, I think it is little bit easier to manage your T during the day. Hope I can get there too despite my new terrible T level.
Hi @RunningMan, thanks for reply. Sorry to hear you suffer from sleep problems too. It's not easy when you can't sleep like you used to. I also take sleeping pills but sleeps restlessly and wakes up several times at night. Hard to fall asleep. I hope our sleep will get back to normal in the future.
Hi @gameover Had T since I was 14, have been mild for many years and mostly lived a good life despite T. Now, 33 years old, it has greatly increased after covid and stress by 15-20 new tones, I can hear some of them most of the time.
It feels like T has no limit. Just getting worse and worse. I...
