Big Pharma — Friend or Foe?

Yes, that's what i'm saying... let's astrange ourselves from real science and medicine. Doctor's and pharma people have never had relatives with cancer and none of them would want to help others.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

What other (real )clinics are there ? I am still very sceptical about this. If you see the home laser he sells. That device cannot cover much area or shine through the earlobe imo. And then he sells another regular laser pen for 1600 €. It's all too heavily marketeered to be serious.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

1 month or so... but of course i never know if it hits the cochlea. Never heard any reaction. Wildens device covers a big spot, as @Nick J. indicates, so he is sure to hit the cochlea. But then 200 mW over such a big area is not much, just saying.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

I have tried this for a while now, like I posted before, just shining a 50mW laser pointer into the ear (with little nozzle taped to end, to guide into the ear). Does nothing for me. Is not harmful imo. @Nick J. You say dr.Wilden does it with 200 mW, is that with a small dot like a laser...

    HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) Surgery

There is one person who says that 18 other persons were treated. Half of them woth "good results", one "completely cured". Doesn't state where he got that from. No treated patient on that forum.

    HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) Surgery

Ok, I understand that he has to charge his expenses, and he is not responsable of healthcare insurance. About public healthcare, it is not just left pocket/right pocket. It is a social security system in which everybody participates and so the cost for the less fortunate (healthwise) is...

    HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) Surgery

Yes, but that is why we have public healthcare, to keep the cost within range... It costs the same for Swiss citizens? Then I would have to ask my healthcare provider if they refund any of those test abroad.

    HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) Surgery

I was also talking about Loreta-qEEG. The measuring itself does not take that long. Maybe with the processing afterwards by a technician, yes. But that is also included in the price. I did read just now that there's also a CT scan, but with public healthcare, this is also not that expensive.

Those with Hyperacusis and Tinnitus, Please I Need Insight

You can work on the phonophobia, fear of (some types of) sound, by staying exposed to noises, but the real hyperacousis doesn't go. At least for me it doesn't. But i also don't know if loud noise above my H treshold (but normally not harmful) causes damage.

    HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) Surgery

2200 CHF just for the intake is quite a lot. Here in Belgium an EEG costs 80 € (no healthcare refund) and MRI or maybe fMRI cost between 50 and 150 € (with public healthcare). Add some more for one or more doctor's consults and that should be a reasonable price. Is it about healthcare, or...

    Treatment Prospects: Vagus Nerve Stimulation

I just want to be carefull, to respect researchers privacy. It might have been "off-record" information, i don't know. It was in the Brai2n-clinic. They are connected to other facilities and dr's (like in Dallas), so they probably received a serenade device to test or received the treatment...

    Treatment Prospects: Vagus Nerve Stimulation

I wouldn't get too excited yet. They told me in Antwerp they have tested it themselves, and it didn't work, sadly :(

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

I also expected it not to work, but didn't hurt to try. Could just buy some optical fibre and try to guide it into my ear... The wavelength is about 650 nm, which justs means colour = red...

Cochlear Nerve Section Cures Some People's Tinnitus

Been asking myself the same question. But it seems like almost any procedure to the inner ear is too risky and difficult. The nerve can't be reached with a needle and without opening skull ?

    UltraQuiet Therapy

An open question: bone conduction hearing devices are used to by-pass the middle ear and provide the vibrations to the cochlea, through the bone. How can this work if you have damage inside the cochlea ,which causes the T. Only the cochlea provides the sound stimuli to the brain (auditory...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: Do It Yourself Guide

I think so, measured by an audiologist at 14000 Hz. But everything from 13000 to 16000 is hard to identify and easy to confuse. Might be a mix. But the spread of the frequencies generated by the acrn page seems quite small to me. Curious at how it's calculated. So for the placebo control...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

I believe it is an ordinary laser-pointer with a piece of optical fibre to attach at the top, and into the ear. So I bought a 50mW red laser pointer (tinnitool is only 5!) from the net and attached a small cone to the top, to insert it in my ear. No results so far. (> 1 month) Of course...

@generalfuzz How do you calculate the frequencies? It's not the f/2 and 2*f with equal distance mid-points (on log10-scale) that was initially mentioned in this thread?

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: Do It Yourself Guide

Hello everyone, i just discovered this thread and read all the way through it. I Am going to give this a try but I have a few problems. @Zechariah , how did you modify the code to get other frequencies, and how do you run the code afterwards? My T frequency is around 14000-16000 Hz, which is...
