Hey man, saw the message you sent but it won't let me respond. I have the same issues, but I have habituated to all of them. My H has decreased dramatically, my T has probably increased, but I deal with both very well.

Help! Tinnitus + Pressure and Pain

Thanks. Yeah, mine isn't fluid I don't think. Things have gotten gradually better. The tinnitus is louder, but I'm dealing with it much better. I still have the crawly feelings and a humming sound/feeling, but those I'm working on dealing with as well. :) I can basically say I've "moved...

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

Thanks. My ears are a bit worse now after a setback. I'm taking it day by day. I doubled the turmeric dose but not sure it helps. The Hum comes and goes, some days better and some worse.

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

Thanks. Been having some tensor tympani and stapedial myoclonus lately that really sucks. Not sure I'll ever get better.

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

I think it's worth mentioning that along with this came the weird fluttering ear sensations. I have three distinct ones - a click, a very deep rumbling (feels like a very quick muscle spasm), and the fluttering eardrum (feels like a microphone thumping) which I believe is the tensor tympani...

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

Sometimes low frequency noise does. Honestly I can deal with it except at night going to sleep. It's impossible to ignore and keeps me up.

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

Anyone with any tips? Mine has recently come back for good. Really no idea what caused that.

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

Yes they are acting up. I've been very congested but it doesn't seem to tie into the humming that I can tell. I also think mine is tied to noise as before this started back I did have a couple of loud incidents around me. My humming is worse on my bad side (right) and I can barely feel it on...

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

N No I'm still taking it. There is another factor there that causes it to come back but I don't know what it is. I wish we knew the etiology of the feeling so we can combat it. It has died back down again today so we will see. I also did want to mention that I tried l-Theanine for a while...

  12. Mike34

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

Yep. It's a humming feeling rather than a sound. It can not be masked and it's very hard to ignore. Consequently, last night it spontaneously came back for me to such an extent that I started getting feelings of anxiety when trying to ignore it to go to sleep. Haven't felt like that in a long...

Humming/Vibrating/Generator Feeling Gone (For Now) and Here's What I Took...

See if it helps. It's important to note that since going away it has come back from time to time. It will stay for a couple days and then go away (for the most part). If I'm In a small bathroom I can barely feel it sometimes.

Tinnitus... Did You All Get Panic/Anxiety When It First Hit?

For my first year, I handled T pretty well. It was "moderate" in my mind and I could ignore it some of the time when I was having fun/working/etc. The other day it randomly spiked and hasn't gone back down. Every small spike I've had has been permanent. With this new spike came some anxiety...

    Caffeine Spikes Tinnitus?

Google it, there are many articles and studies on it. It's not so much a "diagnosis" in itself, but a way to explain the pain and problems I'm having. The ultimate cause is unknown, but many different doctors have said I have CNS sensitization (cause of my pain as well as tinnitus).

    Caffeine Spikes Tinnitus?

I quit most caffeine when I came down with tinnitus, hyperacusis, and other pain issues. I usually have a small cup of coffee in the morning (<60 mg) and am fine. This cup really knocked me on my ass. I have been diagnosed with central nervous system sensitization so it could have contributed...

    Caffeine Spikes Tinnitus?

Had a cup of coffee the other day and unbeknownst to me, it was made with espresso (150 mg caffeine). I felt awful afterwards. Really shaky and disoriented. Now my "static" tinnitus is in a huge spike. I almost feel like I did when tinnitus first came on, always thinking about it. I was...

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

Interesting. My T started 6 weeks after the nerve injury in my head and about a week after I had several MRIs in a row. H started several months after my T as well.

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

I have both of these distinctly - a clicking which I believe is the tensor and the buzzing which is the stapedius. It's more like a very quick spasm that feels like a buzz. When my nerve pain in my head goes down, so does the spasming, so I'm pretty sure mine is tied to nerve dysfunction. I...

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

Fair enough. I wouldn't say that invalidates anything I said. Do these techniques actually CURE H? Most likely not. But I believe they put the mind/body in a state that allows healing - maybe not for all - but for some. Works for me.

Am I Getting Better or Is My Mind Playing Tricks?

Sorry to hear about your situation and good luck with everything. Best I can say is try not to monitor it all the time. Your brain needs to learn it's not a "dangerous" sound so it can ignore it.

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

Thanks man. It's really just stuff I learned around here and elsewhere. People are very concerned about labels but for me it doesn't really matter if it's a "cure" or "coping" or whatever, just that it helps you get back to living life!

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

Whatever you want to call it, my H went down and I'm living a "normal" sound life again (aside from many other pains/issues). I hope you can figure out how to manage yours as well brother.

Does Anyone's Tinnitus Vibrate Their Head?

With nerve dysfunction that helps, but isn't a cure. For the last 10 months I've been laser focused on managing stress, relaxation, etc and while it's benefited my H I don't have any reduction in nerve related ear symptoms.

    I Guess I'm Getting Habituated...

Excellent! This is precisely what you have to do to beat T - calm the limbic system/emotional response to T. Many on here don't like to hear this is what it takes, but I'm glad it worked for you! I'm also starting to meditate. BOL!
  29. Mike34

Does Anyone's Tinnitus Vibrate Their Head?

Yep. I get vibrating/humming/the "vacuum" feeling as @mrcartman put it, itching feeling, and sometimes even a cold feeling like someone is pouring cold water in my ear/on my head. I did a lot of research on those feelings, especially the water feeling, and it really comes down to a...

    Random Observation

Oh okay Oh Oh okay. Not sure what religion and meditation have todo with each other. Meditation has actually been shown to increase gray matter in the brain and has many other benefits to the cns. I'm trying it out to see if I can calm my system further to get rid of the H finally. But if...
  31. Mike34

    Random Observation

This sounds like me. Before my "incident" and subsequent decent into the hell of all these symptoms, I would have described myself as "happy go lucky" and "carefree". Unfortunately, the limbic system doesn't care. It can be dysfunctional whether you experience subjective "stress" or not...
  32. Mike34

    Random Observation

What Paul said is correct but it doesn't have to be "subjective anxiety". Sounds you hear are filtered through the limbic system. Well, it makes sense that Tinnitus would be filtered through there as well. So when you perceive your T as louder and it bothers you, that gets your limbic system...

    Are Emotions Really Involved?

Yes, that's it in a nutshell. It's also why the only way you can really "treat" T and H is to calm the limbic system. People often misinterpret this advice into meaning that their "anxiety" or emotions are causing the issue, but that's not correct. They say it's a "physical" issue and can't be...
  34. Mike34

    Are Emotions Really Involved?

I should mention that I also disagree that if it was a brain issue it would have to be in both ears. Our bodies are pretty complex and I'm fairly certain that the brain's process for filtering these sounds can be ear specific, and therefore only one ear can be effected. I do know that...
  35. Mike34

    Are Emotions Really Involved?

I think you're misinterpreting what "emotions" means. The theory is that H is tied to the limbic system, which is a set of structure in the brain that supports numerous functions, including behavior, motivation, memory, and yes, emotion. So, the theory is that what you hear through your...
  36. Mike34

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

Sorry to hear. There's no guarantee it will heal, all you can do is put yourself in the best situation for it to. H is tied to the limbic system as all sounds are filtered through it. So, you have to find a way to dampen that response. What about meditation, acupuncture, yoga, exercise, or...

    Quitting Music...

So sorry about everything. Nothing I say will probably help, because you've been through it before so you know what you need to do deep down, you just can't see through the disappointment and pain right now. That's hard. :( But you've "healed" once before, you'll do it again. The body has...

All Things Are Possible to Him Who Believes.

Has anyone here stopped to think about what is happening in this thread? We are, I assume, all either dealing with T or H. Beating one or both almost always calls for reducing stress, yet this thread is one big argument. An Internet argument that doesn't solve anything or help our respective...

Who Can't Habituate or Can't Be Helped By TRT?

That's simply not true. I'm sorry you choose to believe that. Now, is it harder to not suffer if you have bad tinnitus? Sure. But it's certainly possible and all starts with attitude. That's all I'll say on the subject. I honestly hope you can come to terms with it and lessen your suffering.
  40. Mike34

Who Can't Habituate or Can't Be Helped By TRT?

You're being disingenuous. T sucks. Period. It's awful. But MANY people have it (tens of millions) and MANY don't suffer with it. That's a fact. So, all I'm saying is find a way to make your reaction to it less and less until you don't suffer with it. Getting off a Tinnitus board may be one...
  41. Mike34

Who Can't Habituate or Can't Be Helped By TRT?

The point is that it is your problem. You most likely can't change the pitch/loudness of your T. But you CAN change your response to it. Yes, you can. Once you do, you will "suffer" with it much less.
  42. Mike34

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

Absolutely. The whole deal for these types of conditions (less so for hyperacusis and more for tinnitus) is that there is most likely very little you can do to "control" your perception of the sound. So what can you control? Your reaction to it. How can you control your reaction? The first...

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

Yes, I would also classify mine as moderate. I forgot to mention I also cut out processed foods/sugars for the most part and began going to bed at 9:30 every night and getting 8-9 hours sleep without fail for 5 months. I learned through research that the brain simply can not heal without...

I'm not sure if it was mild or not but my ears were in great pain with any loud noises or high frequencies. My Ldls were 65-70 per my audiologist. Yes I have head neuralgia/migraines that started at the same time and are still going strong unfortunately.

My Hyperacusis Has Reduced by 80%.

I just wanted to let others know there IS hope of it going away. I've basically followed all of the default "rules" for hyperacusis: 1. Rarely protect ears with earmuffs (unless babies screaming, mowing grass, using power tools, etc) 2. Stay away from high noise areas (loud restaurants at...

Has Anyone Here Been Diagnosed With Central Nervous System Sensitization?

Hey Jeannie - Fibromyalgia is one of the diagnoses you can get with central sensitization, yes. It has more to do with myofascial pain (muscle covering) than nerves though. Mine is all straight nerve pain. I was on Lyrica for a while but didn't like the side effects. I'm not on any meds...

Has Anyone Here Been Diagnosed With Central Nervous System Sensitization?

Tinnitus is a processing problem with the brain. I've seen several doctors that believe my issues stem from an overal sensitization of the central nervous system. Anyone else?
