Bad Experience with Julian Cowan Hill

Dear Tinnitus Talk, Sorry for causing any anger, harm or upset. It was never my intention. I also want to try and clear up any misconceptions about me or my work. It is truly terrifying and confusing to come across people wanting to bump me off or have me locked up or reported, when every day...

Quieten — App by Julian Cowan Hill — Scam? Reviews?

All I can say is I'm sorry if I have caused any suffering. It is really the last thing I intended to do. I was told there was nothing I could do about my own tinnitus and that I would have to learn to live with it. This devastated me and made my twenty years of hell even worse! So when I got...

Quieten — App by Julian Cowan Hill — Scam? Reviews?

I charge £80 per hour which is normal for therapists in London. My sliding scale goes down to £40 for people going through a tough time. I developed QUIETEN to help people stay clear of negative and upsetting messages that you find on YouTube. I am very aware how just one negative comment about...

Bad Experience with Julian Cowan Hill

Last response I promise! I think I will leave a feedback box in my clinic so that people can always let me know how things are going anonymously. I mustn't assume that people will let me know how they are feeling even if I am asking them constantly how are you, how can I help?

It is best to give feedback to the person themselves. I have read this thread and now have received this feedback. It's food for thought and a wake up call. Thanks.

Bad Experience with Julian Cowan Hill

Wow, I feel physically sick and am shaking having read this thread. It has really shocked me to the core. I never dreamt that trying to help people would end up bringing up so much hatred and negativity. It is extraordinary to think that I have dedicated myself to helping suicidal people find...

Bad Experience with Julian Cowan Hill

I damaged my hearing in front of the loudspeaker at the Notting Hill carnival and I've been severely deaf in my right ear ever since. This happened about 10 years ago. It took me about seven weeks to get back to silence but it was hard work and for the first couple of weeks I really struggled again.

Collecting Names of People Who Used to Have Tinnitus

I get really fed up with people believing that tinnitus is incurable and that there is no way out. I understand why this happens because there are a lot of people out there promoting this negative and harmful belief. Would it be possible to set up a list of people who used to have tinntius...

Dr. Charlie — ENT Specialist With Tinnitus

Its great to see an ENT here who has a clear understanding of how tinnitus works. I would like to ask what you would recommend to change the way ENTs manage tinnitus? How can we get them to stop saying there is nothing we can do about it and say what you have learnt from your experience here? I...

Craniosacral Therapy (Julian Cowan Hill, etc.)

I found a gradual cure without really understanding how tinnitus works. People often find a way of getting better without understanding. But now, having worked with over 600 people with tinnitus over the last 15 years I feel I have started to understand something about this condition. I have had...

    A Positive Tinnitus Story

Around 1998 I couldn't work when it was really bad. I lost my job because I couldn't hear well enough. I had to do a lot of interpreting and the noise got in the way. I started working as a therapist shortly after I qualified in 2000.

Anybody Interested in Writing a Review for My New Book "A Positive Tinnitus Story"

Thanks for your feedback. I thought I would put a simpler book out there on Amazon as it is a huge interface. Then from this book I would then direct people towards the more in-depth book and information on my website which maps out a path to recovery with techniques and a framework charting...

    A Positive Tinnitus Story

Yes. I'm severely deaf in my left ear and moderately deaf in my left ear. I walked in front of a loud speaker at the Notting Hill Carneval and damaged my right ear in a split second. Lip reading really helps me survive in social situations. I can hear plenty and so it doesn't seem like I'm very...

    A Positive Tinnitus Story

Sure life is stressful. When things build up it is good to go and get support from a therapist which helps us let go. We can also practice a body-based approach like tai chi or yoga which destresses us. Diverting the attention away from our ears is helpful. Grounding ourselves in body-based...

    A Positive Tinnitus Story

Help from others is very helpful but I understand money problems. So learning to soothe the self with baths, showers, self-massage, slow movement, stretching, yoga tai chi etc is absolutely essential. When my T was bad I was hopeless at this and didn't know how to look after myself. But...

Scared — Can't Cope with Tinnitus

When my tinnitus was bad, I felt dizzy for a few months and would wince in pain if someone dropped a piece of cutlery on the sink. I am fine now. I regard dizziness as a symptom of overwhelm. Helping to get your bearings in the body can really help this spinning/dizziness/floatiness to settle. I...

What Positive Things Has Having Tinnitus Made You Realize?

I realised that tinnitus was my own personalised in-built healthometre and started to work with it. Once it had become a friend I let it guide me back into a state of really good health. Nowadays if it starts to reappear I go to bed early, or eat really healthily, or do more meditation or calm...

    A Positive Tinnitus Story

Thanks for your responses. My tinnitus started due to acute family stress and a challenging work situation. I had a whole history of ear infections as a child and far too many antibiotics. I also grew up with bullies and became far too compliant and put on a smile or a brave face and behind the...
