Hi Deb, They do help me. I have high frequency hearing loss, mild to moderate, and they cut the tinnitus down by about 50% as soon as you put them in... take them out and tinnitus ramps up again straight away. They are NHS ones, I think they are called Spirit. Good luck.

Sadly, if hearing aids are going to help the tinnitus, it eases off as soon as you put them in and starts up to normal level a few seconds after you take them out. They will not help to cure the tinnitus in any way, certainly not just because you wear them for hours.

If you take vitamin D, I would get a blood test done to see what your levels are... a lot of the internet says take 5000 IU a day but believe me after a few months of that you could easily be overdosing and can cause a host of problems, it's a hormone more than a vitamin.

It will go back to baseline. My tinnitus goes up a day or so before I get a cold/virus and then I usually end up with a lot of ear wax. Maybe you should check for ear wax over the eardrum.
