If Tinnitus Always Goes Away During and After Exercise, What Does It Mean?

My tinnitus is the same. It goes away with any sort of exercise (walking, running, cardio), but it’s completely gone after a HIIT session, without fail. Unfortunately, the tinnitus always comes back an hour or two later.

New to Tinnitus and Falling Into Depression

Hi Carlyi! Just wanted to let you know that there is hope with Tinnitus. When I first developed Tinnitus, back in late December of 2014, I began having debilitating panic and anxiety attacks that landed me in the ER more than once. Doctors and specialists were less than helpful in identifying...

    Career Change?

Lately I've been thinking that it might be time for a career change. This is sad, as I love what I do and am not sure I can see myself doing anything else. However, the demands of the job have increased tremendously as well as my inability to cope with the everchanging evaluations that place...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Mo_Mo, No, I do not wear the hearing aids during the day (unless the ringing gets so bad that I need relief). I am trying to habituate to the sounds. I see the aids simply as a tool to help me manage my tinnitus. I really don't want to rely on them in the future.

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Steve - I truly appreciate all your adivce, but I just want to be sure I understand you clearly. Is your recommendation to ignore it, hoping that I will either fully habituate or that it will go away completely in time by doing so? I am able to ignore it throughout the day, but it's at night...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Steve - I spoke with the audiologist today and she said the amplified background noise acts as a "white noise" that blocks out the tinnitus. She mentioned that many of her clients, without hearing loss, get relief just like myself from these specific hearing aids. Unfortunately, the tinnitus...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Steve - So, I went to another audiologist today to trial the audibel tinnitus aids. He retested my hearing and confirmed that I have perfect hearing in both ears. He joked and said that I could hear a mouse run across carpet! I can hear 8 Khz clearly and yes, they tested above that :) All...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Steve- I do not have a copy of my hearing test, but the audiologist said I did not have any hearing loss. I'm not sure if they tested above 8 kHz. Once I have the report, I will respond with more info :)

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Steve - That is awfully kind of you to create some zen files for me. Although I enjoy the zen sounds on my hearing aid, the amplified background noise actually brings the most relief :) I have another appointment later this week. Hopefully the doctor will be able to answer all of my...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Mike-thank you! It's nice to know others are finding relief from hearing aids as well. I'm trialling mine at the moment too and am scared to make the investment if it will only cause more damage. Still, maybe I'm habituating extremely fast or the T has gone down, but the last two nights have...

    Hearing Aids

Yes, even with no hearing loss (based on hearing test results), my tinnitus is completely eliminated with a hearing aid. It's very strange, I know! The audiologist played around with the controls to reduce the background noise to just above my T. I cried, gave her a big hug and thanked her...

    Hearing Aids and Tinnitus

Hello! I am new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself, as well as ask some questions to others who have had Tinnitus for many years. December 27th was the day Tinnitus entered my life. Since then, I've been trying to make friends with this new high-pitched tone in my ear, but...

Why Is Tinnitus Louder After Taking Out Hearing Aid?

Leah - How have you adjusted to the hearing aids? I just received one for my left ear (tinnitus only in this ear) and noticed that the tinnitus spiked after taking it out. The tinnitus eventually went back down to its baseline, but I'm now worried that prolonged use will increase the level...

    Enjoying the Silence

Tandpiano - Thank you for this wonderfully open and honest post. Like Tara721, I was also teary-eyed as I read your post. Christ is the ultimate healer and He will see us through all our pain and suffering. I'm so very glad that you are able to rely on His strength and love during this time...

Hi Sherri! I am new to this site and Tinnitus. I noticed, from previous posts, that you've had some success with supplements. Can you please let me know how that is going and what you're currently taking to minimize the sound of tinnitus?
