@shasta0863 @SoulStation @Megatron did these short zap/buzz noises ever go away? Mine seem to come and go for months at a time. Started 2 years ago.. Have had almost a year of not having it, then will have it for a few months. Stress??? It gets worse when I'm very hot or stress/aggrevated...
@Mindphaser is your tinnitus still gone? Im having oscillating high pitch noises that come and go frequently throughout the day and I'm thinking it's from inflammation either from TMJ or Eustachian tube OR both.
I've had my ears pop but not on a regular basis. I've also had shooting pain a few times but associated it with a headache. Lasted a second or so. I also grind. I'm hoping my new anti anxiety meds will resolve the grinding. Maybe you need to see a TMJ specialist or a physical therapist ?
Very sorry to hear that. That was me a few months ago. Maybe you need to consider getting on some kind of anti anxiety medication for the time being. I'm on Buspar right now and Ativan for panic attacks. I'm starting to realize it will go through good and bad phases. You'll come out of the bad...
Hello,
My name is Kayla and I've been suffering from what I believe is "somatic tinnitus" for 2+ years. It comes and goes.
If I turn my neck a certain way or protrude my jaw forward I hear I high pitch static noise in my left ear. I was diagnosed with TMJ and given a mouth guard to wear but...
Hi Carlyi, I was wondering how your T was doing. I've had T on and off for the last 2+ years and I believe it's related to my neck and jaw. I'm trying acupuncture for the first time Friday. Trying to stay optimistic.
@Dana Hi Dana, I believe I have the same issue you once had.. TMJ/neck issues causing tinnitus when i protrude my jaw out, chew food, etc. Can you please let me know what yuo did to cure your T? Thanks! Trying acupuncture Friday
Yes silent meaning it goes away completely for a few seconds.. Ive had T 2+ years and its basically gone away up until 2 months ago.. Thought I was having a "spike" but now its 2 months of this up and down volume ..
Does anyone else experience this? My tinnitus goes from loud to soft to silent literally all day.. Fluctuating up and down.. weird staticky noises, get louder then softer.. My face will flush or if I'm really stressed out it gets super loud for a few seconds then comes back down.
Please!
@billie48 thank you so much for your reply. I am really going to try and stay positive. I am supposed to leave for Cape Cod Friday for a long weekend visiting family and I'm debating whether or not go go due to this recent set back. Do you suggest going? Do you think it will help get my mind off...
Just recently had a spike in early May. Went to CBT training and upped my amitriptyline to 50-75mg... was feeling better after about 2 weeks, so all through June and most of July. Now I'm feeling like I'm back to square 1.. it's loud again like it was in beginning of May. I keep telling myself...
@billie48 Hi, I read your post and it helped me a lot the first time I had a spike. I'm now on a second spike and I'm wondering if you had any recommendations. Have you ever experienced spikes/set backs? Thanks!
@EatMoTacos How's your spike doing? I actually took Allegra last Thursday because of hives from poison ivy and my T has been louder again ever since. Hoping it will go back down soon.
Thanks @glynis I'm going to mention this to my Psychiatrist when I finally get an appointment. I think I need something to just take the edge off and help me get through these low times when T is really acting up. When T is not loud I am usually in a pretty good mood but as soon as I have a...
Thank you, @Michael Leigh .. I don't believe it was caused by loud noise. I have allergies, ETD, TMJ etc.. or so the doctors tell me. Was diagnosed with all of these things after my initial T diagnosis. Yes, my tinnitus did get better originally but through the last 2 years I've had many ups and...
@Michael Leigh Thank you for sending me those posts. I am reading them now. In all your experience and people you've talked to throughout the years, do you have any doubt I will find a better place some day? I just need some reassurance from someone who has a lot of experience in this topic
I really don't have a clue what's causing it.. I got a spike almost 3 months ago and ended up in a Psych hospital outpatient program. I'm on amitriptyline which helps me fall asleep.. Things started getting better for me until a few days ago when I had a set back. Now I'm catastrophizing again...
Looking for support. I keep trying to tell myself it will get better, it always does.. but it just keeps getting harder and harder to deal each time I have a "spike".
I just need some kind words.
@Nonna can you elaborate on your comment. "In my opinion it seems to have something to do with the bad ear healing."
I'm experiencing tinnitus in my "good ear" for the last few weeks.. Have never had issues with this ear before.
Hello,
I've had a "spike" the last 6 days.. Decided to have a beer and a glass of wine this afternoon to see if it helped and its brought my T down to 1-2.. it's been a 7-8 all week..
Why?????
Stress related? TMJ related? When i push on my jaw a certain way it goes away also.
Thought? Thanks!
Hi I've been having intermittent "static/electrical" noise that comes and goes all day.. Seems to be really bad when I first wake up and progressively get a little better throughout the day. Then I go to bed it it restarts again the next morning. It seems to be triggered by noises like bottle...
Hi, I have experienced exactly what you have previously described. The intermittent "static/electrical" noise that comes and goes all day.. Seems to be really bad when I first wake up and progressively get a little better throughout the day. Then I go to bed it it restarts again the next...
Hi everyone,
I just want to put my story out there in hopes that someone else has maybe gone through the same type of scenario and can help me in any way.
A little bit of a background. For the past few years I've had this "crackling" fluid sound in my left ear. I found myself alway poking...
