One Way to See It, I Suppose

If I were smart enough to understand that, I'd have fixed it already:-). Let's hope someone is!

Yes sometimes it might be better to be prepared, Emma. In fact I'm going through this thing right now with some stuff in life. But by preparing for the worst I'm also pre-assuming the worst, which itself can be just as bad or sometimes even worse than not being prepared once it happens.

Ohh absoloutely not, I belive we lay our own path yes. But sometimes you don't have the stone you need or want and have to take what you get. But it's still the same road that you made yourself. Does that make sense? Wow I must stop talking in parables lol!

One Way to See It, I Suppose

Indeed. The evil circle of tinnitus making you feel bad which makes the T worse which makes you feel worse and so on. But I guess I shouldn't complain if I'm that smart that I can actually hear my brain;-) ehh?

Don't think of it as the tinnitus has changed you. I'll anwser that with something I read in the book "for every dog an angel" by Christine Davis. She said to a friend that she wasn't expecting herself to take this road, to which she got the reply; but Chris, this is your road. It just doesn't...

One Way to See It, I Suppose

Hello. I was watching a dvd with a swedish comedian, David Batra, doing stand up comedy. He was doing a rather fun and entertaining show, but in the middle of this he said he wanted to take a moment to talk about a hearing disorder he got about 2-3 years ago. He said that one time during a...

    Songs about/referring to tinnitus

Do you know any songs about, or, which are reffering to tinnitus? I know some(I'll mention latr, when I've thought about it for a while) and hearing that tends to make me feel like I'm not alone. I'd love to hear a few more so if you know any, would you kindly let me know:-)?

And even though you cried, I'm glad you remember. As long as we remember, there's hope. Remeber, one day you will probably feel that way again, and it might be sooner than you expect:-)

    Moves Like Jagger

Will life be the same as before we first got T? I don't think so. We learn and we change from experiences. Even if my tinnitus was cured now I'd still be aware of the problem and therefore forever avoid loud enviroments e.t.c. So I don't think life will be the same as before. But that does...

How Old Were You When Your Tinnitus Started?

TODAY is EXACTLY one year since I got my tinnitus. I was 17 at the time and am now 18.

Free of Tinnitus. Or Winning the Lottery?

If it'd be guaranteed that the tinnitus would never come back, AKA: make me immune to tinnitus, then that without a doubt.

Tinnitus Loudness When Listening To Other Things

Not being able to listen to music, that must be hard:( I hope it gets better - if you start maybe you can do it a little more and more until it gets better! Yes that's what I've felt as well - smoother sounds like ocean, rain, bubbles etc. seem to only be good for my tinnitus, while white noise...

Tinnitus Loudness When Listening To Other Things

I think the sound it made was very similar to my tinnitus, so I kind of always heard that sound over the sound from the actual show, or program. Then when I went away from the screen I was used to hear it over normal sounds and that's what I think made it annoying for me to watch. I do have...

Tinnitus Loudness When Listening To Other Things

Usually when I am listening to stuff I think less about the tinnitus. So a movie is usually a good thing to get my mind of the sound in my head. But I remember an old TV I had, one of those fat ones, which made this high pitched noise, so whenever I was watching this one my tinnitus went bananas...

Another Mishap! Container Handle Banged Metal, Close to My Ears

Yes, as Erik said, I do believe the worrying is making it worse than you think. I know it's not always easy, but try doing something you love to get your mind off it!

Choosing Your Career When You've Got Tinnitus?

My tinnitus is having a one year anniversary quite soon. At the moment it's about 11.5 months since I got it. I do hope for one day waking up without that sound in my head. But if I can go on until then as if I never had got it, I think I'd be feeling as best and as positive about it as...

    Fed Up With It Now...

I have good days and I have bad days with my tinnitus. Since I love music that's my best tip to forget the tinnitus on calm days. I can't lay my head down on the pillow and relax while listening, if I want to forget it since I hear it much louder if my ear is against the pillow. But still just...

Choosing Your Career When You've Got Tinnitus?

Thank you both very much for replying. I think this is my biggest problem with my tinnitus. Fear. It scares me of doing stuff and by doing so it's controlling my life, sort of, be it these big choices in life, or be it with more simple day to day activities. But I'm slowly being less and less...

Choosing Your Career When You've Got Tinnitus?

Hello everyone. I wonder if any of you out there allowed your tinnitus to affect you choice of career or what you wanted to do in your life? Also, do you have any advices or anything you could tell me that would help me with this matter, as I am and have been thinking as a maniac about this...

    What keeps you going?

Hello echoes. I can relate to you in two ways. The first being that I've had plans that I've postponed because of my tinnitus. I haven't yet decided whether I should change plans/find new goals in my life or I should just keep following my dream. But for now I'll just say I've postponed my...

    My Tinnitus Up to Now

Hi you three! Petloy - That's pretty much when I used to listen to music as well, when I was out running or biking. Markku - Yes hopefully a cure will be found sooner rather than later. We're seeing more and more of different ideas how to cure it, so I it should be too far away I hope...

Is Using an Earbud Bad for You?

I wasn't personally recommended not to use them, but it was actually on another tinnitus forum. On the British tinnitus association forum, the tinnitus support contact there, Michael Leigh, wrote that it may be bad in some cases. I'll quote it here, in case you're interested to read it...

Is Using an Earbud Bad for You?

How did you get your tinnitus? Was it by listening to music on too high volume via headphones? I'd recommend you to find another way of listening to what you need. I've been recommended never to use headphones/ear buds again, no matter what. That being said it's different for everyone and it may...

    My Tinnitus Up to Now

Hello everybody! I hope you'll read this, maybe give me some advice, and hopefully share your own stories.I don't think this will be a big wall of text, but just in case, I apologize in advance;). My name is Martin and I'm 18 years old. My tinnitus started around the 13th of February 2012(yes...
