    Finally Peace of Mind

Thanks for sharing the sound therapy video..it gives me relief. It's so weird, b/c yes, it's another noise, almost the same noise, but the sound feels like it is just coming from my device and not from inside my head which calms me down. It's not so "icy". Hard to explain. Thanks again!

One of the Strangest Success Stories I Have Ever Read

Ok, I have to share...one day when I was driving, I felt like I was going crazy, so I sorta screamed/yelled/hollered while coincidentally cupping my ear and part of my mouth, so that my voice accidentally reverberated right into my ear and it was quite LOUD...It was a bit of a shock, but the...

Successfully Turned Tinnitus Off with Sleep Control

Like I mentioned in a previous post, I've actually have had the best sleeps ever! Not at first..the first 6 months or so were a little rough, but then I discovered listening to "music/drone/bin beats/tibetan singing bowls/anything sorta hypnotic..etc, and I put a bluetooth speaker right under my...

Successfully Turned Tinnitus Off with Sleep Control

Maybe Success Comes in Small Steps

Yes..I have that problem too if the talking is too interesting...but usually I'm sleepy enough to still fall asleep. What I personally liked about the talking ones, is they distracted me from all the horrible sad thoughts I was having about t. Thankfully, the scary thoughts about t have calmed...

Maybe Success Comes in Small Steps

I had bought a few "pillow" speakers, but they were never loud enough..or clear enough..and the cables seemed too short and flimsy..so then I had the brainstorm for a bluetooth speaker..better sound and no wires! .....so I spent a few days looking for the flattest one and found that the Aud Mini...

Maybe Success Comes in Small Steps

Yes..I now have a small blue tooth speaker I put under my pillow..it was the best thing I ever did to help me with this condition! Sometimes I listen to stories or sleep hypnosis, (helps distract me), or radio or documentaries, (again can't be too interesting..lol..but I discovered Alan Watts...

Yes, thank you for the post..I think I'm starting to experience serious habituation..finally..but still really want it gone..so I will have to try and accept it..and hopefully it will get even more habituated...which is technically like having it gone..:))

    Getting Better? Hope So

Wow..the majority of your post is EXACTLY what I am going through! Thinking it has gone, but then when I "look" for it, it is there. So weird! It still doesn't comfort me though, b/c I can't enjoy the relief when I don't hear it, b/c I'm not thinking about it..I want to be able to think about it...

Was Almost There and Then the "Spike" Came. :-(

Hey everyone..I'm in the same boat.. I've had this for 17 months, and when I look at the BIGGER picture, I'm way better then when it first started, but I definitely get those crazy good and bad days...but I didn't get any good days for about 7-9 months, and now the good days are getting...

Really Good Advice! Time for You to Feel Better.

Thank you so much! That is a great description for habituation..I keep hoping I don't have to "talk myself into it', I hope it just feels like it is supposed to be there! I think I feel moments like that..so hopefully they get to be bigger moments! Thanks again!

    Tinnitus Gone

I've read that the way to keep it away, is to NOT listen to silence..your ears will always be looking for something to listen to, so even if mine goes away, I will always have a sound machine playing, or soft music, or radio..etc..so that my ears will ALWAYS have something else to focus...

    New Peak of Habituation Achieved

I really enjoyed reading your post. This tinnitus thing is almost fascinating...I've always like psychological thrillers, but I just didn't want to be the star in one! ha! But yes, I've been having such a mind trip. And when you mentioned that tinnitus is a "thought", well, that blew my...

    New Peak of Habituation Achieved

What a great way to explain it! It is what I was hoping to hear from someone..I'm so afraid that I will have to talk myself into thinking I'm "habituated", or forever pretend that it isn't bothering me...or I think when ppl say it isn't an issue for them, I think they are lying, whether lying to...

I Wish I Knew What Silence Was Like

@Michael2013 ~ Thank you for your revelation! I think I've been yearning for something I never even had. Your comment made me realize this..so if I never had it, I can't miss it! I just have to find my way back to whatever my silence was. @Ed209 ~ I also have a memory of "hearing something"...

My Tinnitus Doesn't Affect Me Anymore. Habituation DOES Work.

Thank you soooo much for sharing this! This is what I needed to hear! I had a bit of a turning point when I started to understand that even if this does not go away, there is habituation, which is as good as.. So I'm just waiting..trying to be normal, but with a few coping mechanisms that I...

Have Tinnitus, but No Longer SUFFER with It.

@Fungus @InfiniteLoop @Bobby B ~ I've just discovered a reverse psychology trick on myself. Although, I see on the internet, other ppl have discovered it too. I've been told that meditating, mindfullness, etc..is good for stress relief, which in turn lowers the sound or keeps your focus away...

Have Tinnitus, but No Longer SUFFER with It.

Yes, the timelines are all soo different! What DOES make me scared, is that some ppl have had it for YEARS, and they say they are still suffering! I am going to research habituation until I'm blue in the face! I just gotta have it! And yes, I guess not ever having silence again will alter my...

Thanks for sharing..I've had a bit of a turning point lately, and now your post has helped me keep the realization going. A Few Stories I Have Heard/Seen...

@Zora thanks for the response! Sometimes I'm not sure if it is fading, or I'm just coping better..sigh.. @InfiniteLoop I totally relate to the statement, "challenging mind game", I've even called it "psychological warfare"! I've always lived inside my head, so this has been very intrusive and...

    A Few Stories I Have Heard/Seen...

Hi, For the people who had it go away suddenly, was the noise consistent right to the point of it going away? Mine sorta fluctuates, and, dare I say it, if I look back over the year I have had it, it is quieter, OR I'm habituating. But I thought, and am sorta willing to accept that this is what...
