    The 3 Year Journey

So, it's been just over 3 years since I developed tinnitus and I don't know about success stories but I'm honestly stable. I have a job, I go to college and I can live a normal life just like before I learnt about tinnitus. I've always had the same mindset to not care about it and the sound...

    Do You Have Any Phobias?

I don't have any life wrecking phobia's or any that I'd cry over but I am scared of heights and my face becomes squeamish when I see spiders. My most uncommon fear is lifts, especially if it's in a big building; again I think this relates to highest but also the concept of being squeezed in...

    A Stint Return (Update)

Hello to everyone It's me Mario, I written up some update feeds a while back and I'm just writing this to say nothing really has changed for me. I feel great/happy as I always have pretty much done as life takes it's steps. To summarize I was struck with tinnitus in march this year but over a...

    Hey Guys

Yeah of course you've summed up what i've been trying to say. With it being harder for others, you'd have to go more in depth, unlike myself I was quite lucky I did it straight handed and deal it with it myself. So I cannot really express what others go through but when you medicate someone who...

    Hey Guys

Thanks :) I wouldn't say I "hear" it but I'd describe as a discreet soft sound that occurs, but it definitely feels not like than having tinnitus as some people make out in that manner. The attitude thing, well, in life it's always good to have determination, not in a sense that to "not listen...

    Hey Guys

Yep it's me again, after a few months of being not online, life's pretty busy I must say. I'm gonna try and keep it short :). A short update on health is that it's the same as when i first realised, no impact upon myself after being aware back in Feb. So yeah, not being online since July, and...

    Hey Guys

Yeah tinnitus can grab you but I think the success stories, I think with all health problems people just don't care when it doesn't affect them, whereas they do suffer, its like almost attached to them. Funny old game

    Hey Guys

I wouldn't say the noise isn't so intruding, if I'm able to live a normal life, I'd say a smooth ringing noise if it makes sense, for example, I don't need anything to "distract me". Answering your other question, no not that ive noticed. And thanks :)

    Hey Guys

It's me Mario, I know it's been a while since I've been online and there is reasons for it. Firstly I'd just like to tell you all I think I've recovered from my Tinnitus scares now and Tinnitus itself (habituation) I feel is now cured. Yeah I guess the past few months I haven't been online has...

    What Is Tinnitus Habituation Really?

Habituation isn't a cure as some people make it out to be. But it certainly is a boost in life, your self esteem, your welfare. The first is the hardest, but as the slogan goes "Every one of us is a minor tragedy, most of us learn to cope."
  18. Mario

How can you tell that it's getting better?

You've probably habituated, your dietary has a impact as well. In my past experience, sugar isn't a gift with tinnitus. You've coped well by the looks of it.

    I feel a new level.

I think now I've came to terms with Tinnitus and it's complex ways. One night, I visited a house party, you've probably already guessed it. The music was quite load but I was sure to keep distant, I probably spent a few minutes at the most listening to it. Anyway a few days since then but I...

    My Philosophy on Tinnitus

Yeah unless it's life threatening and your going insane, doctors just don't care, that's what I find irritating, I mean, this condition can kill people (through depression - suicide) so on, yet doctors have the decency to say "live with it" that's the worst thing you could say to a sufferer. No...

    My Philosophy on Tinnitus

I totally understand what you said about Hyperacusis and Chronic ear pain, but it is only us who can say what we are living with. Being non expressive about anything is quite daunting, example, you've been getting bullied, and you don't express it, don't tell no one, it kills you. Quite...

    My Philosophy on Tinnitus

I guess so, we must not be regretful though, never resent, I still live and love life before my tinnitus and after it, is there anything I can really do, no. Within my reach I do have help, but it doesn't die it down. I personally just think it's inner strength more than anything.

    My Philosophy on Tinnitus

This might be quite lengthy or not but this is my views on Tinnitus. I believe that Tinnitus is irreversible, and you can only worsen it, unfortunately, yes you can get treatment, example, (HBO), therapy and so on, but that only improves your confidence and self esteem on your condition and day...

I will check with ENT. If not, hopefully it will subside, but it's god damn unusual for it to last ten days non stop

So... the ringing continues to persist.

I visit a ENT as soon as, so if I get a hearing test done, and coincidentally it is hearing loss and that is the cause of my current tinnitus, if it isn't, then only God knows.

So... the ringing continues to persist.

The doctor recommended that I wait at least another week before I see a specialist (ENT). He said it could possibly go, but it's went on for ten days, wouldn't it of went before?

Is Tinnitus Seen as a Disability?

The point I think is, those you've mentioned is life long term disabilities, Tinnitus can go tomorrow, but you know it probably won't, but Tinnitus, if you put your mind to it, is just another "sound" that you hear.

Is Tinnitus Seen as a Disability?

Best Guess on When Tinnitus Will Be Cured?

How I see it is, Tinnitus isn't really life threatening, I've had it a week, it's annoying as anything but it isn't going to kill you.
