Hi, everyone!
I just registered and have been binge-listening to the Tinnitus Talk Podcast from Episode 1 all the way to the latest. Unfortunately, scientific progress feels really slow, especially after listening to all the episodes and realizing there is still a lot of speculation and no cure for most patients.
I have had tinnitus since 2020. I first noticed it after trying meditation, and once I became aware of it, it has been with me ever since. I also have hearing loss (likely from music and concerts), so I blame that rather than the meditation. Still, if I could turn back time…
I consider my tinnitus mild, and it does not bother me much unless I have a cold. During those times, it can get louder and slightly frustrating. Like most people here, I would love to stop hearing it altogether. For me, it is a continuous high-pitched static sound.
I might try a hearing aid if it gets worse, but so far, I have not tried anything to address it. I mentioned it to my GP (just as an FYI), but they did not follow up on it.
It is great to have a forum dedicated to this subject.
