I thought I had already been through the searching, hoping, and experimenting. But no, hope springs eternal.

After a health scare two years ago, I became interested in tracking my sleep with a wearable device (an inexpensive Fitbit). I have seen how sleep changes as a result of sleep hygiene, exercise, diet, and exposure to light. I also lost forty pounds along the way.

Then, this winter, all of my prior strategies for distracting myself or accepting reality fell apart, and I cycled through the same angst I experienced in the early days. I no longer take pharmaceutical medications and use supplements instead. My philosophy is that each day is a new day. Find the joy, do something new, and stop procrastinating.

In 2017, I crossed the threshold from barely hearing to deafness, endured surgery to implant a cochlear device, and have had daily pain ever since. I am looking for a place to learn, vent, and connect with others who understand.

You've found the right place. Lots of learning, venting and connecting in here.

Welcome!

Thank you, @GregCA. Your profile picture reminds me of King Floyd, who used a cooked steak on the cover of his album Choice Cuts. He was best known for his song Groove Me.

I'm all about music, lyrics, and song facts. It is the only place where I feel happy these days.
