Being able to cope with Tinnitus becomes largely a conceptual challenge.
The reality is, we have sustained a combination of physical, neurological and psychological damage.
It is permanent, nasty, noisy, hateful.
My own noise is a high pitched hissing, crackling, spitting, sparking sound - a forest fire.
In my daily meditation, of course, I hear it.
I close my eyes, exhale, and just stop (consciously) breathing - I literally wait for my tummy to take over. After a little while it does.
Then I 'think' the word 'deeper' with each exhalation.
My peace comes in, and I drift off beautifully.
'deeper' - 'deeper' - 'deeper'
At numerous times in the day, when my forest fire intrudes, I remind myself that
'my peace runs deeper.'
It helps.

You may think of this as more twaddle from a muso - 'they've always got their 'eads up their arses that lot' - but hey - if it helps?
Subscribing to the idea that the auto-suggestion of a concept might be effective might sound like mumbo-jumbo, but the world's religions have relied on these principles for thousands of years.
There is nothing to substantiate their concepts either.
