I started with normal tinnitus 15 years ago which turned into pulsatile about 2 years ago.

GP sent me to see hearing specialist who sent me for MRI which came back clear. The specialist said to get on with it.

It has steadily got worse and now in the last 2 weeks I've had a new development. As well as the usual white noise and heartbeat sounds, I now have a totally separate pulsing sound at around 140 beats per minute.

I can't lie on my left side anymore and I don't know where to go with this.

Anybody else experienced this phenomenon?

Hi @nmc. A few questions to start with?

Do you smoke, any hypertension that may raise blood pressure? MRI just for head? Pulsatile tinnitus just heard from left ear?

Silly question: what is your normal pulse rate?
Would it be around 70?

If so, maybe you're just hearing the "lub dub" and therefore 140?
A long shot, but I thought I would ask.
