- vestibular issues w balance ear pressure
I am 63 years old. After experiencing severe grief and the loss of both my parents last year, I developed severe PTSD, depression, and anxiety. No psychological treatments have helped. Before this, I was running marathons and had no vestibular issues.
During the summer of 2024, I started experiencing motion sickness while biking and walking, along with ear and head pressure. I had to give up running because I lacked the energy due to depression, even though running has always been the one thing that truly helped my mental health throughout my life.
By September and October, my vestibular issues worsened, as did my anxiety and panic. I underwent numerous tests, but everything came back negative. I started vestibular therapy, hoping it would help. A few weeks ago, I began experiencing tinnitus as another vestibular symptom, which has made my anxiety even worse.
Recently, I decided to start running again. For the first time in two years, it has significantly improved my mental health. However, after I run, the tinnitus gets louder. I have no idea what is going on, but I suspect my vestibular issues may stem from being in a prolonged fight flight freeze state for nearly two years.
I am so happy to be running again. I have been a runner my whole life, but I am frustrated that it seems to worsen my tinnitus. I do not know what to do, but I really do not want to stop running.
