Cause of Tinnitus
Very loud concert.
Hi there, my name is Wojtek, 41 and I have a tinnitus after a concert hmm about 18 years ago .. I just live with it .. very little hearing loss, tinnitus higher frequencies sometimes more silent, sometimes loud and really annoying, but accept it as a part of my life, does not hurt and does not do much, drove me crazy for 3-6 month then I arranged myself that it does not do any good fighting it .. found a good doctor who taught me if you do not let it hurt you it does nothing ..just be happy with it .. sometimes looking for newer research but people seem to be tapping in the dark. It is the same as many have it ..high frequency tones 2-3 frequencies, if I bike on my teeth the frequency goes up a bit, and if I play sweeping high noises I can overlay it for about 1 min .. then it comes back.

Welcome to TT. You are a tinnitus veteran, and have the right attitude.
I think your experience will be very helpful for others on this forum.
My dad has tinnitus that is quite loud, but it completely does not bother him and actually never did.
You are experiencing residual inhibition if you can suppress your tinnitus with noise.
The fact that you can cause an increase in your tinnitus by biting hard means there is also a somatic element to your tinnitus.
