Anybody Use the Styletto Connect 7Nx Hearing Aid for Tinnitus Caused by Hearing Loss?

I have tinnitus in my right ear caused by hearing loss. I was cleared for a hearing aid so yesterday I went to speak to somebody. She was really nice and friendly and I felt really comfortable with her. She had me try a few hearing aids that were quickly programmed to give me an idea of how they would help.

It was amazing. Until the tinnitus started I had not realized how much I could not hear. I tried several of the aids and I really like the feel of the Styletto Connect behind my ear.

I have researched them on the internet and have not seen anything negative about them.

I would like to hear the opinion of people on this forum before I spend $2500 on my first hearing aid.

If my hearing aid wasn't covered under insurance, I would have purchased Costco's own Kirkland hearing aids. The Kirkland brand are actually Resound hearing aids, which is, coincidentally, my hearing aid brand.

While I didn't purchase my hearing aids from Costco, they generally have a generous return policy on products they sell. And at $1500 for a pair, that's a savings of $1000. In addition, they offer free hearing tests, free followup appointments, free hearing aid cleanings & checkups, and free loss & damage coverage.

I have never tried the Styletto 7nx but have tried the Signia Pure 7nx. I really liked it and unlike many other hearing aids, the Pure 7nx could be programmed up to 12 kHz which allowed for more ambient frequencies to be amplified that could aid in masking. To get it programmed that high, you would need to get an extended audiogram though. It had Bluetooth and an app where you could change the direction of amplification. It also had programmable built in masking sounds and there was built-in "notch therapy" for tinnitus but I never had that programmed so I don't know what that's like.

If you purchase a hearing aid, there are some places that may allow price negotiation so don't be afraid to ask. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best.

Thanks JasonP and Michael B. I also tried the Signia Pure 7nx and really liked it too. I went to Costco today and got some information. They recommended the Resound Preza for my level of hearing loss. It looks very similar to the Pure. And I really liked the $1400 price. I have not found too many reviews on the Preza itself. I did read about the issues people had with Resound's customer service. I have any appointment on Dec 6 to go try them out. In the meantime I will continue my research.

Remember one thing you get what you pay for. It took a lot of looking and listening and some of these people selling hearing aids are like old time hawkers. You need that hearing aid to fit the needs of your hearing loss and with tinnitus an app that will mask the tinnitus. I spent 2000euros for mine that's about 2500dollars they are fitted for my loss of hearing. Hearing aids come with all sorts of apps, but its the same as buying a car, the paint don't make it run. Choose wisely

Thanks Elmer. I will definitely keep that in mind. I am trying to keep myself from jumping on the first hearing aid I find. I did not realize how much my hearing loss affected me until the audiologist I went to put a hearing aid in my ear and turned it on. Its like jumping at the first car you test drive. The only thing keeping me shopping is the fact I don't have the money for either hearing aid.

I didn't have 2000 in my back pocket either. But I was able to secure a loan through my credit union. Yeah I got to pay the loan off in a year, but its better than the past 40 years going "huuuh,what did you say, or worse yet becoming isolated which leads to dementia.

And that is exactly why I am looking to get the best hearing aid for what ever money I can get. I almost cried when I was able to hear with the hearing aid and its only been about six years for me. Can't imagine what you felt after 40.

Right now I am trying out the regular Signia 7nx hearing aids and the hearing aid specialist programmed it with little microphones put in my ear. This was about an hour or so ago. I have been able to hear a lot of sounds outside that I could not before with my old hearing aids and I am noticing less tinnitus when around ambient noise. I am hearing voices more clearly too. I know it's early so I will have to see how it goes.

Let me know how it goes. I ended up getting a Rexton Adobe Li from Costco as it was more affordable at the moment and I really wanted to be able to hear. Its been two months and while I can hear better now, it has a transistor radio like quality to the sound. I am not sure if that is what it's suppose to sound like. I am still looking to save money to get the Stylleto.

I was just testing Oticon by Siemens. Unfortunately for me they are increasing my reaction. When the hearing aid portion was turned on, it sounded like I was in a wind tunnel and bizarre. I had asked my local Costco a few years back, they said they did not sell anything for tinnitus.
