Anyone planning on traveling anywhere soon, either for business or holiday? Any trips you are looking forward to? Unfortunately, I dont travel, but I can live vicariously through some of you :) And to keep this on topic, does your T effect your traveling, does T bother you less when you travel/on holiday? Do you take any special traveling precautions because of your T?

We are going to Dominican Republic for a wedding in June. We take trips to Massachusetts in July and October to see my mother and brother & sister in law. Traveling hasn't interfered with my traveling. I'm not missing out having fun!

I love to travel. Have been to many places in the US and Canada. Once to Ireland. Last place I visited was Orlando with my daughter and grandchildren to experience Disney World and other attractions. Shortly after on 10/25/11 I got tinnitus. Now, with the T I am fearful that I will not be able to travel as before. Tinnitus has sucked the fun out of life including travelling which I enjoyed so much.

I would very much like to travel anywhere. When you have silence taken away from you it is hard to enjoy things, including traveling. I would like to go to Puerto Rico again.

just1morething - yes, I feel the same as you do. The incessant squeal in my head makes it hard to get on that airplane and just go. One of my plans for retirement was to tour Europe. Now, with the T going on, I do not know if that is possible. At 15 months in to the T experience and having made improvements I am still hopeful.

I hope you can get to PR again and beyond.

While I can't say T would stop me from traveling if I really wanted to, it certainly would make a pleasure trip less pleasureable, not only for me, but for the people I would want to go with. I wish I found that my T was just a noise. I don't find that. It's a complex of related annoyances that slows me down considerably, and makes me unable to be the fun, funny, enjoyable person that I would like to be: the sound, the pain, the headaches, the difficulty concentrating, and I don't know about others, but when my T gets really bad, I get nauseous as well. All those combined takes the fun out of a lot of things, and make it really difficult for me to be a good companion.

Mick - I agree. I have been told that tinnitus is "just a sound". Wrong! Tinnitus is more than that. It is also sensations in the ears and in the head. Sometimes piercing pain. Hard to enjoy yourself on a trip with all of that going on.

Thanks stantheman, and same to you on your traveling. Some of the others think you should just go and forget about your T. Maybe in their case that is true, but everyone is different, with varying degrees of T, and tolerance for it. I don't want to be complaining about it the whole trip, so would sooner get it managable just in ordinary living, before thinking of traveling.

just1morething - yes, those are my thoughts. If I can only get to the point where the T is a minor annoyance, as I have heard some say, then I'll be content and start travelling again. I hope that is soon. As for now, the T stops me from doing many of the things I just took for granted. What a lousy condition.
