So, on Sunday it happened again. The tinnitus increased in volume and has stayed there since then. The root cause is my activities on Saturday when had some fun time with some friends (playing FIFA, having drinks and finally ending up on a bar). When I arrived at the bar I used my molded earplugs that reduce the sound level with 25 db. Even though my tinnitus increased after that evening. I have completely stopped going out to night clubs but I thought that a bar should still be ok. I even asked the bar what their normal noise level is and it's around 90 db according to them. There was also a live band playing there for maybe one hour and that of course increased a little bit. We anyway have a legal rule that the average is not allowed to be more than 100 db.
Anyway, I don't try to look back but instead accept what happened.
Since I first got my tinnitus I have 3-4 times worsen it but I have always luckily finally habituated to it.
Do you know what's the best way to habituate and how long it normally takes (maybe I have just been lucky and there is some better way)? When getting an increase I always get a little bit depressed and feel that maybe I will fail with the habituation this time.
