Can Benzo-Induced Tinnitus Be Cured by Starting to Take the Benzo Again?

Hello all,

I'm searching for the real cause of my tinnitus. And I just wonder what you guys think of benzo withdrawal induced tinnitus healing with using benzos again for a lifetime? Is there anyone within us who completely got rid of tinnitus caused by benzos? Or do you know anyone else? My psychiatrist claims that if my tinnitus is caused by benzos I can be cured by starting to take it all over again. Let's help confused newbies just like me?

Psychiatrists should stop filling people up with medicine in the first place. When in a hundred years time, our descendants will evaluate the current era of medicine, I feel relatively confident in saying that the field of psychiatry (and usage of medication), will go down as one of the most shameful disciplines of medicine. Ever.

It's a crap shoot, the only way to find out is to reinstate -- with all the risks that come with that -- and see what happens.

Benzos still reduce my tinnitus, but not worth it to me.

Hello, about to possibly make the decision of a lifetime here. So any input will help me make that decision.

I developed a tinnitus 1 month after cold turkeying an Ambien (Z-drug) dependence. At 2 months now and most physical symptoms have subsided. Except the tinnitus. I don't know how much longer I am willing to put up with it so am considering reinstating medication and the first line of response for this is benzo.

What do you all suggest? What experiences have you had?

Benzos cause dependency and build tolerance.

Your tinnitus will get better for a while, then when the rebound effects kick in, your tinnitus will scream more than now. Possibly for the rest of your life.

Do NOT DO benzos for more than a couple of weeks. You will regret it and when you post about your regret, I will come back to say I told you so.
