Has anybody's Reactive Tinnitus ever been yemporary ?? My tinnitus became reactive after a few months but it was only reacting to vents and running water. Now it reacts to TV.

Mine is always temporary. Seems worse when I deal with stress situations also.

When my T was new, it reacted to different sounds which seemed to get worse. So I posted about it in an earlier forum but was told reactive T is actually some form of hyperacusis. Anyway, I did have bad H too. However, this reactive element and the H just faded over time within the year. So hopefully yours will do the same. God bless.

Oh I have to make a quick reply I am late for something.

I never understood the big deal thing about "reactive tinnitus" it seemed to always bring on some type of fight. So I quit talking about it to avoid that. Like it really matters? I think it is an appropriate term for this situation. Easy to understand and yes it can be associated with hyperacusis.

My tinnitus reacts to certain sounds and lights. The regular tinnitus is always the same. But the reactive always lessens for me depending on the severity of exposure to loud noise or stress. My worse enemy is the crunching of plastic bags.....

So not to worry Adriel. For me it is usual and temporary. Just a pain in the you know what.

In the one year that I have had the reactive T/H, it it has improved massively at times and worsened numerous times due to set backs. It has not gone away and as of the past few months become completely unpredictable and can be triggered by sub 80,70, even sub 60db noises but no idea what sounds or when it will happen and not all sounds affect it.
And mine wasn't even noise induced T.

@billie48 did you do anything for it to go down, or did it go down by it self

In my case, I just did what everyone was suggestion - protect from loud noises but don't overprotect from normal sounds/noises. The ear plugs were always ready but not used for ordinary ambient sounds of the environment. The biggest healing for my case and probably for a lot of people is just time. Time gives the chance for something to heal inside the body if we do the right thing. That is my personal experience but individuals can differ.
