My mother asked me for help with something that necessitated going near her and I asked her to quiet down (which I do a lot).

She got angry and shouted for... probably less than a minute? Maybe two? Slammed her hand on the counter. My tinnitus seems to have spiked, could it be permanent? I was about 2-3 feet away.

It could. Not likely thought.

I'm hoping it's just stress.

I got a blood blister on my toe from stubbing it just after, and just before there was a crying baby in Walmart, so today has been very hard on my nerves.

Thinking I've done irreplaceable damage to my already sensitive ears doesn't help.

I always wear earplugs in Walmart.
