Ethanol is a dose-dependent carcinogen in any quantity and may actually do structural damage to brain areas directly implicated in hearing loss and tinnitus.

Now that we've got the boring, depressing stuff out of the way.

My meds keep me from having more than a drink every day or few, so I try to really make them count.

It's summer time and our mint has been coming in ferociously, so I've been doing a lot of mojitos lately. Ideally I make simple syrup in advance with mint infused into it for an extra kick, but the general recipe I go by is:

3/4 shot fresh squeezed lime juice
3/4 shot simple syrup
2 shots rum (many people use white, I use local darker stuff but I really like rum)
muddle in fresh mint leaves
shake over ice
pour over ice
add a splash of mineral water

Presto, poof.

What y'all got in your liquor cabinets, and what do you like doing with it?

I've got 6 bottles of Jameson whisky, drink it straight. 3 bottles of red wine, very seldom drink wine. 12 cans of Carlsberg beer, and 1 bottle of White Lightning.
