After 12 years of taking prescription Valium (along with Morphine and Hydrocodone), and as my physician of 15 years was retiring, I could not find another doctor in our county who would agree to fill my long term script of 30 mg. daily. One PA threw her hands in the air and said, "Well, you don't need these!" Two more medical providers indicated strongly that any withdrawals would last "only three days' and "Oh. after two months all symptoms will be gone." And the same from two others.
I am into my fifth month of withdrawals now, and for a time, was barely hanging on. There is no medical help available in my remote town, and certainly no sympathy for a person in my situation. I cannot work, sleep...and well, you all know the rest of the horror. How can these medical people possibly justify doing this to someone? Though disabled with a painful neurological condition, I still need and want to work.
Very little light left on this end.
