I've been a tinnitus sufferer for about 3 years now (2017). After 6 solid months of struggling, I managed to habituate and live a normal life without stressing too much over my tinnitus.
However, on September 27, 2020, I had my first big tinnitus spike. This was the first time I've cried over my tinnitus in well over two years. I believe the spike was due to stress as I'm a college senior and stressed over finding a good job/etc. The high pitch tinnitus has subsided but the volume is still loud compared to pre-spike.
For those who have had stress-induced tinnitus spike before, did the volume go back to normal? How long did it take?
