Hello everyone,
I started dealing with tinnitus in September 2018. It is a constant high-pitched ringing that affects both ears. I did well ignoring it and tuning it out for a while, but about two weeks ago, I noticed the intensity increased in my left ear. My right ear has also started matching the pace of my heartbeat. It is still a loud, high-pitched hiss, not a whooshing sound like many people describe.
I went to Urgent Care because I was having a panic attack due to the loudness and the pulsing. They flushed my ears, but there was no change other than having clean ears. I was referred to an ENT, who ordered an MRI to rule out any issues. The MRI came back clear, which was a relief.
However, along with the pulsatile tinnitus, I am now experiencing balance issues. Nothing is spinning like vertigo, but I feel as if I am on a boat. It is a phantom-like sensation when I am standing still or lying down. I started to feel a little better as I was getting used to the new tinnitus sounds, but the sudden balance problems have made me feel worse again.
I can still walk and drive without any major problems, but I can tell that something is not right. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Is there anything more I should be looking into?
I am 27 years old. I have completely stopped drinking and have switched to a much healthier diet.
