So I played around with a thought regarding treatments and research.
It seems that most research are focusing on permanent healing of either tinnitus or regenerate cells etc.

This is of course very good, and I really hope they find that cure tomorrow or any time soon...

But would it be easier to create some sort of pill/drink/shot or whatever, that made tinnitus go away for like some hours, or in best case a day?

I mean, like a painkiller takes away your head ache... I would gladly use any pill that at least gave me some hours of total silence.

We still don't know fully how tinnitus works.

True, but we also still dont 100% know how a drug like paracetamol works

My thought was that it would be easier to find a med that relieved the symptoms for a short period of time instead of a full recovery solution.

Benzos already work for me and others in that effect.

That give me hope similar pill without side effect could eventually appear.

What kind of benzos do you use? And does it take away all of your T?

Yes, no more T, no more H, nothing left.

All benzos work more or less but the most effective in killing my T is oxazepam for me.

Thanks flobo, I´ve heard many people benefit from benzos, so I might give it a try.
Did you have to use them for a while or did you experience relief right away?

Right away, i was maybe a week in, i was a mess, a psychiatrist prescribed me oxazepam and zopiclone to sleep.

Took them, within 15 minutes everything was gone. I celebrated and thought i was cured until it came back the next day and read about benzos/gaba and their effect on some people's T.

I have been taking Oxazepam for the past 4 months, and sadly it does nothing to my T volume wise, only makes me a bit more relaxed about it.

You are lucky that Benzo's bring you complete silence. Then you can have relief every once in a while without getting addicted.

Thanks! What dosage are you on? And do you use oxazepam and zopiclone together? Could it be the mix that makes it work for you, or have you tried them isolated with same result?

I am sorry to hear that your T is not affected by the drug. It seems like there is no right or wrong answer for anything when it comes to this disorder. What works for some, does not work for eveyrone. What dosage are you on?

I has varied quite a bit. When I was at my worst, my daily dosage was 2 x 15 mg Oxazepam. Now I am down to 7.5 mg a day and and at one point I will remove it completely.

Get shit-faced drunk, typically that will knock T out for a few hours. I read a study that claims Benzos help, so I had my Dr. prescribe Clonazepam for spikes. Taking .5 mg 1 or 2 days/week max doesn't affect my T at all and I've read too many horror stories to risk a higher dose.

True story.
I feel you on the horror stories.. Thats why I have not gone down that path yet. I do have 4 x 10mg oxazepam lying in my drawer for emergency. But my mind is too scared to even try half a pill... oh the irony.
