Daily Mail Article on Living with Hyperacusis

Daily Mail has published a great article on two patients living with hyperacusis, one in Canada and one in the United States.

It describes how sounds are overwhelmingly loud for hyperacusis sufferers, causing ice pick or burning pain, and suggests a few mechanisms/underlying causes. It also gives a detailed history of both patients and their prior history of noise exposure.

I hope both of these guys can find relief and anyone else reading this that may be suffering. We all deserve it.

 

Agreed. I just wish there was some hope for noxacusis/hyperacusis.

 

I think chronic neuropathic pain management is key. HCN2 channels and Kv7.2/3 openers.

 

And when is that likely to happen? If not in the next couple of years, then a lot of people, myself included, will be gone.
