Doxycycline for Stye? Worried About It Making My Tinnitus Worse

Hi All,

I was initially prescribed Doxycycline and Trypsin + Chymotrypsin for a stye but decided not to take them due to my anxiety about medicines and several stories on this forum about Doxycycline-induced tinnitus. The stye went away after a day of using warm cloth compressions, but it has been recurring every one to two weeks since then.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Doxycycline is what caused my tinnitus. Most non-US medical sites list tinnitus as a common side effect of doxycycline. I would avoid it at all costs. If you have to take antibiotics, there are better options.
