I know many are a bit apprehensive when it comes to ear syringing but my recent experience was positive.
The GP said he'd been doing it for over 30 years and is very gentle. He used lukewarm water and it removed large chunks of wax blocking my ear that was causing deafness and ear pain.
It was a big difference to my previous experience with GPs that used cold water and excessive water pressure that did little to remove the real problem wax.
My hearing returned as soon as the water dried and I do believe my tinnitus is milder also.
So, my recommendation is to find a GP or preferably an ENT that knows what he's doing because that can make a significant difference to the results you get.
