The paper explores migraine medication combinations for tinnitus reduction. Hamid Djalilian is listed as a co-author.

This is just a preprint.
Conclusion: Both combinations of drugs were promising in improving tinnitus severity. However, larger-scale trials with longer follow-up periods are warranted to validate our findings between groups.

So, group NT shifted from a baseline of barely severe to moderate, +/- basically the entire range between moderate/severe?

This feels like I'm looking at CBT-style results. Despite how this report will almost certainly be marketed, it offers anything but evidence that "migraine" is the definitive cause of tinnitus.

@IYIiKe, basically, a 20% reduction in tinnitus severity was observed on average with either combination, while the placebo group showed a 12% reduction. The full paper will highlight some super responders as well as non-responders. As is often the case, the outcomes vary on an individual patient basis. Overall, there was still a small average reduction across the treatment groups.

Is there no issue with the 25% increase in variance in group NT?

It feels like the reduction, when accounting for the additional variance, resembles the placebo group more closely. This leaves only the VP group, which I'll reserve judgment on until I can review the full paper.
